Katie Price and her sister, Sophie, had an uncomfortable discussion about Katie’s new husband, Lee Andrews, on their latest podcast episode.
Katie, a 47-year-old former model and mother of five, surprised her fans by marrying a 42-year-old businessman in Dubai this February after a very quick romance. Now, people are focusing on serious accusations made by a man named Lee.
Sophie seemed unhappy about the relationship and brought it up again during their recent podcast episode.
Katie jokingly compared her marriage to the reality show ‘Married At First Sight,’ seemingly referencing her ex, JJ Slater, who appeared on the show. The comparison came shortly after Katie and JJ broke up, just weeks before her own wedding.
Katie was playfully discussing her wedding dress when Sophie unexpectedly joked about changing her husband. This came after Katie had playfully called Sophie a rude name for simply responding with a skeptical ‘hmm’ to the initial conversation.
Katie claimed she’d met her husband two weeks prior, while Sophie remained silent and avoided eye contact.
The model seemed upset and initially said she wouldn’t talk about it, but then shared a little bit of information. She’d sent a picture of her next wedding dress – which she described as incredible – to her costume designer, Adrian, as well as to Sophie and her mother.
Oh my gosh, you guys, it was SO subtle, but I totally caught it! Katie was telling this story about a dress, and then Sophie just… faded out of the shot for a second! It was like, Katie said her mum had seen Sophie wear something similar before, but she hadn’t done this ‘other bit’ yet. And then Sophie just quickly agreed she had worn it before! It was a tiny moment, but I swear it meant something HUGE! I’ve rewatched it like ten times!
The conversation turned to altering the dress, and Katie offered to make some changes. Sophie jokingly asked if she meant changing the husband, which made Katie laugh and clarify that she definitely did not mean the husband!
Katie recently announced she’s made peace with her sister, Sophie. This comes after her family was surprised by her quick marriage to Lee.
The Katie Price Show unexpectedly ended shortly after Katie’s wedding in Dubai. However, after being off the air for over a month, the podcast recently made a comeback last month.
Fans were surprised when Katie married Lee, a man claiming to be a businessman, in Dubai just ten days after they first met.
Even though her family worried, several of Lee’s ex-partners made serious accusations, and many of his stories about his money, business skills, and famous connections turned out to be untrue, Katie is convinced he’s genuine.
You know, it’s funny how connections happen these days! I always say don’t be afraid to make the first move, and that’s exactly what happened with me and Lee. I spotted him as a suggested follow on Instagram and just sent him a message. We started chatting – seriously, hours each day, sometimes up to five! – and it wasn’t long before we decided to meet up in person. Dubai was the perfect spot, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Those close to her were surprised by the sudden wedding, and have reportedly voiced worries that it might be a scam.
Honestly, I totally get where Katie’s coming from. Her family was worried, of course, but she really pushed back, explaining she wasn’t a child anymore and that her life was different. She just wanted them to accept her for who she is and let her live it her way. It’s like she was saying, ‘Trust me, I know what I’m doing, and you need to let me be me.’
In an interview last week, she said it was natural her family would be concerned. She explained they love her and have supported her through many difficult and painful experiences.
Honestly, I completely understand why my family is upset and angry – they care about me so much, and I love them just as much. But I’m not a child anymore; I’m 47 years old, and I need to be able to make my own decisions. I just need them to trust me and let me explore this path for myself.
Katie’s sister, Sophie, has made it clear she doesn’t approve of Katie’s recent marriage and has indicated their podcast will be on hold for the time being.
