Kate Hudson’s Bottlerock Debut Slammed as ‘Screaming, Not Singing’ by Fans

Kate Hudson performed at the Bottlerock Music Festival in Napa, California over the weekend.

46-year-old actress from the movie “How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” confidently performed both her original tunes and covers, showing ease and enjoyment while on stage.

Goldie Hawn’s daughter donned a white lace gown with off-shoulder design and batwing sleeves, as she is 79 years old.

She belted the dress at her waist with a black belt and wore black over-the-knee boots.

At certain times in her set, Kate wore a pair of blue lensed glasses.

As a devoted admirer, I found myself amongst a diverse spectrum of opinions regarding her performance. One individual penned a comment that was less than flattering, stating, ‘A pretender to the throne of Goldie and Kurt.’

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but be swept up in the wave of enthusiasm sparked by People’s latest Instagram post. The comments are overflowing with heartfelt adoration, bravo’s echoing across the digital landscape, and an infectious energy that can only be described as a clamor for her to grace our shores. It’s clear that her presence is eagerly anticipated, and I can feel the positive vibes radiating from this virtual gathering of fans.

*One fan expressed disapproval by stating, “That’s not for me,” explaining that the performance was more like shouting than singing.*
*Other fans reacted with expressions of discomfort, using words like, “Ouch” and “Yuck.”*

Someone else aptly wrote, ‘Waiting the biopic of Stevie Nicks with Kate playing Stevie.’

One person inquired, ‘Who requested this?’, and another responded positively by saying, ‘You have a beautiful voice.’

One fan brought up her ex-husband, Chris Robinson, who is a member of the Black Crowes.

‘And I think she absorbed a lot from her ex-husband Chris Robinson; they were a beautiful couple.’

The Press Democrat, Napa and Sonoma County’s newspaper, reviewed Kate’s performance.

According to the newspaper, following the May launch of her first album titled ‘Glorious’, Kate Hudson (formerly an actress) celebrated triumphantly on the Verizon stage, showcasing her new career as a singer.

In a heartfelt manner, Hudson acknowledged the audience for their support as she ventured musically, blending her own compositions with familiar tunes such as Bittersweet Symphony.

‘This is my first festival,’ she said, beaming. ‘I’m so happy.’

In their review, San Francisco’s Riff commented on Kate’s performance by saying, “You wouldn’t expect Penny Lane to be the lead singer of Stillwater,” a reference to her character from the movie ‘Only Famous’.

Kate also performed both original compositions and renditions of popular tunes such as ‘Voices Carry’ by ‘Til Tuesday, ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ by The Verve, and ‘Take a Picture’ by Filter.

In the movie Bride Wars, the lead actress was accompanied by a six-piece band whose rhythmic beats highlighted her powerful, rough-textured vocal abilities.

‘We’re whippin’ through this set; I’m on a timer and everything! It’s so exciting,’ Hudson said.

Kate performed at LA’s The Roxy and San Diego’s The Belly Up before her Bottlerock appearance.

One of the cover songs that Kate loves to do is Aerosmith’s Cryin’.

She played the song in her set at The Roxy and the band noticed.

Aerosmith posted on Instagram Stories a video of Kate’s rendition of their 1993 hit “Cryin'”, adding, “‘We adore this cover!’ and mentioning Kate.

At the Roxy, Kate played several songs from her 2024 album Glorious as well as some covers.

As a devoted admirer, I took to the stage singing familiar tunes from my Bottlerock set, as well as Benson Boone’s Mystical Magical, Fleetwood Mac’s Gypsy, and The Cure’s Just Like Heaven.
