Kate Ferdinand shared a heartfelt message to her husband, Rio, on Monday, expressing her gratitude for his unconditional love. She posted a collection of photos to Instagram to accompany the message.
The 34-year-old former TOWIE star has talked openly about the difficulties she’s faced adjusting to life in the UAE. She moved there last August with her family: her partner Rio, 47, his daughter Tia, 14, and their two children, Cree, four, and Shae, two.
Kate seems to have adjusted well to her daily life with Rio, based on her recent posts about healthy living.
In one snap, Kate can be seen eating an array of healthy fruits and drinking green smoothies.
She also posted a cute photo of a cozy movie night in bed, which she enjoyed after receiving a beautiful, large bouquet of pink and red flowers.
Alongside her post, she penned: ‘My love ❤️ I’m not sure what I would do without you.
Oh my gosh, it means the world to me that you love me for exactly who I am! Seriously, just imagining weekends with you – slow mornings, endless walks, and cozying up for movie nights – it’s absolute perfection. I can’t even begin to tell you how happy that thought makes me!
Kate recently shared that she’s been finding it difficult to adjust to the move to Dubai, and became emotional while admitting she misses her family.
She admitted that while she’s loved living in Dubai, she’s found it difficult being separated from her two older sons, Lorenz, 19, and Tate, 17, who remained in the UK to pursue their football dreams.
In the March issue of Men’s Health UK, Rio Ferdinand explained his recent move, describing it as a new adventure. He shared that his life has always been dictated by schedules – first as a football player, and then as a sports commentator.
Big changes and new adventures don’t come along often. This is a rare chance to break out of the routine and try something different, and it’s exactly what we’ve been hoping for.
Kate recently told Women’s Health UK that she understands what she needs to stay mentally healthy, and finds exercise and therapy particularly helpful when she’s going through a difficult time.
She shared that feeling good about her appearance is important to her happiness, but she prioritizes exercise for its positive impact on her mental well-being.
I also want to set a good example for my kids by prioritizing my health. Seeing me work out motivates them, and that’s really important to me.
I understand my emotions and know what helps me feel better. If I need extra support, I’ll consider therapy. When I’m having a hard time, I’ll make sure to get fresh air, maybe go for a walk, and connect with friends or family.
Reflecting on last month’s relocation, she explained that it felt like entering a completely new environment. Despite this, she expressed her continued affection for London and the United Kingdom, highlighting many things she appreciates about the country.
‘I do feel happy in Dubai, but I’m just missing a part of me.’
Kate also mentioned that this change has allowed Rio to spend more quality time with his family, especially after he left his job as a commentator for TNT Sports last year.
As a lifestyle expert, I can honestly say this place is incredible to call home, especially for families. My kids are truly thriving here – they’re happy, healthy, and have the wonderful freedom of an outdoor lifestyle. It’s just a fantastic environment for them to grow up in.
Rio is having a great time, and I’m enjoying myself too, but I’m really homesick. It’s been tough being away, and I especially miss my sons a lot.
Look, I totally get why my sons are chasing their football dreams, and honestly, I’m thrilled for them! It’s a bit tough, of course, because I always imagined us all staying put – it’s the best place for my little ones, and we’re all really happy here as a family. But if they weren’t pursuing their careers, they’d absolutely be right here with us, I just know it. It’s good, though. They’re doing what they want, and that’s what matters most.
It’s really difficult, because we’re a close family and have always relied on each other, so this change is a big one for us.
