Karl Stefanovic takes a break from Olympic reporting duties to watch Australia v France water polo with his wife Jasmine after THAT lavish dinner in Paris on Channel Nine’s dime
As an ardent fan of Karl Stefanovic, I can’t help but feel a mix of admiration and envy as I read about his Parisian escapades during the Olympics. Here is a man who has managed to carve out a successful career in media, while also juggling family life with grace and poise.
As a devoted follower, I took a brief respite from my hosting responsibilities during the 2024 Paris Olympics on Thursday, instead choosing to immerse myself in the thrilling water polo matches.
As a dedicated follower, I’ve been keeping the viewers engaged, presenting Channel Nine’s Olympic coverage live from the heart of Paris, side by side with my co-host, Sarah Abo.
As a devoted family man, I’ve been taking some well-deserved time off with my beloved wife, Jasmine Yarbrough, and our daughter Willow, who is 19 years old and a significant part of my life, shared as we are with my ex-partner Cassandra Thorburn.
On a Thursday, designer Jasmine posted delightful photos on her Instagram Stories, featuring herself along with two others, enjoying the Australia vs France water polo game together.
One image captured Karl sitting amongst Jasmine and Willow in the stands of the Aquatics Centre, both he and they were grinning broadly and giving the peace sign gesture.
In an alternate angle, Karl peered over the balcony for a better view of the Olympic events, while Jasmine playfully teased him, saying he was the biggest fan of the Sharks, almost like a devoted groupie.
The three managed to secure highly coveted spots to witness the thrilling victory of the Australian Sharks against France in the men’s group B preliminary game.
The victory propelled the Australian men’s water polo squad a step nearer to clinching the nation’s initial Olympic medal in this sport.

The game remained tense and uncertain right up until Chaz Pool scored an impressive, decisive goal in the final 24 seconds of play.
In a burst of joyous excitement, the Australian team exploded into massive celebrations when the final whistle blew, symbolizing their thrilling 9-8 victory against France.
Besides covering the Olympic events, Karl has been exploring the scenic attractions of Paris alongside his wife, Jasmine.
On Sunday evening, the parents, along with their four-year-old daughter Harper, made their way to the private Girafe Restaurant, where reservations are secured through a Game Pass.
Jasmine posted pictures on Instagram from a luxurious event, where she mentioned that Channel Nine covered the expenses at an upscale eatery.
She posted, ‘The Giraffe is with you. Thanks, Channel 9, for an enchanting dinner.’ This suggests they enjoyed a meal together, courtesy of Channel 9.
As a devoted connoisseur, I must share that this exquisite establishment boasts caviar priced at approximately AUD $1075, while their principal courses fall within the AUD $60 to $70 bracket.

The luxury venue also boasts ‘gourmet seafood dishes in an upscale restaurant with a terrace and Eiffel Tower views’.
However, not all fans found the post appealing. Instead, they criticized it as untimely, given the latest announcements about job cuts at Nine Entertainment.
As a seasoned observer of the media landscape, I can’t help but feel a tinge of schadenfreude when I see a former colleague dining at the most luxurious restaurant in Paris, all expenses covered by Channel Nine. Having been let go from the same network myself, I know firsthand the bitter taste of job loss and the struggle to make ends meet. However, it’s hard not to be envious of their ability to enjoy such extravagance while many of us are still trying to find our footing. It’s a stark reminder of the disparities that exist within the industry and the harsh realities of life after being let go from a high-profile job.
Another said: ‘100%. Like read the room. Go have the dinner and enjoy yourself. But at least have enough compassion to not post about it.’
Other people spoke up for them, with one remark saying, “They are tirelessly working in Paris day and night. Either show some grace and positivity or perhaps refrain from commenting.”
‘There’s always that negative someone that talks s**t on a nice post,’ said one more.
Instead, it was noted by someone else that Jasmine removed the critical remarks from her post.
‘Clearly hits close to home if it’s been deleted…’ someone wrote.
When her post was initially published, it seemed as though some critical remarks had been removed from Jasmine’s Instagram account.

Additionally, it seems they were provided with a luxurious residence in Paris through what appears to be an Airbnb endorsement deal.
Channel Nine declined to comment when approached by Daily Mail Australia.
A significant number of positions are slated for elimination at Nine Entertainment, affecting roles not only in other departments but also within the prominent news division on television. This decision has led to a staff walkout in protest.
In June, Mike Sneesby, CEO of Nine Entertainment, informed employees about layoffs as a measure towards a $30 million cost reduction strategy for the company.
The spokesperson affirmed that out of our workforce of nearly 5000 individuals nationwide, approximately 200 positions may be impacted within the company, Nine. This includes both filled and some unfilled temporary or part-time jobs.
