Karen Gillan announced that filming has finished on the third Jumanji movie, calling the experience deeply moving. The film, a sequel to Jumanji: The Next Level, has been in the works for six years and is expected to come out in December.
Actress Ruby Rose Gillman shared photos from the set on Instagram, along with a throwback to an old interview where she revealed she loved the original Jumanji movie.
Gillan shared that the original Jumanji is one of her all-time favorite movies. She loved it as a kid and still does, so she was incredibly excited and surprised to find herself actually inside the game.
She shared that this role was a dream come true. She felt incredibly fortunate to be part of a film series she loved, working alongside some of the most talented, hilarious, and genuinely kind people in the business.
She shared how amazing it was to watch her co-stars – Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black – give fantastic performances while also managing their busy careers. She ended with a heartfelt message, telling them how much she loves them.

Gillan also expressed her gratitude to the film’s writer and director, Jake Kasdan. She commended him for looking after the actors and successfully managing the entire project, noting his exceptional sense of humor.
Gillan hinted that this might be the last Jumanji movie in a recent post. She wrote about how surprisingly emotional it was to finish filming, saying, “We’ve left the jungle and returned to the real world. I had an amazing time working on these films.”
In 2023, Kevin Hart suggested that the upcoming third movie—currently without a title—would be the final installment in the series. He told Variety they need a significant conclusion for the pair, rather than leaving the story unfinished.

Gillian has officially joined the cast of the upcoming supernatural thriller, Blasphemous, and will appear with Josh Hutcherson and Clive Owen.
The movie centers on two priests – an inexperienced one (Hutcherson) and his seasoned mentor (Owen) – tasked with safely moving a young woman believed to be possessed (Gillan) to a place where an exorcism can be performed. Things get dangerous when she manages to break free, pushing their beliefs and survival skills to the limit.
Jumanji 3 will be released in theaters on December 11, 2026. Also, the latest issue of Living Legends, a 100-page, full-color magazine celebrating Harry Styles, is now available. You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
