Kaia Gerber hits Oscar party with new beau Lewis Pullman as she AVOIDS exes Austin Butler and Jacob Elordi

Kaia Gerber, a Vogue model, turned heads on Sunday night in a striking, form-fitting red dress with a high slit.

Cindy Crawford’s daughter attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party in Beverly Hills with her friend, Cory Michael Smith, and they posed for photos on the white carpet.

The 24-year-old left the event with her boyfriend, Lewis Pullman, after one year together. Lewis, whose father is actor Bill Pullman, actually presented an award with his dad at the ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre.

Gerber and her ex-boyfriend, Austin Butler, weren’t together at the Oscars. He chose to attend Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s after-party instead.

That avoided an awkward run-in between Gerber and Butler who did not seem to have the best breakup.

Their high-profile romance lasted from 2021 until 2025.

Sydney Sweeney wasn’t the only former flame of Kim Kardashian’s ex at the Oscars! Jacob Elordi brought his mom, Melissa, as his date to the 98th Academy Awards.

The Australian actor received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the horror movie, Frankenstein.

He was also at the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday, where he chatted with Kaia Gerber’s friend, Kendall Jenner, though pictures of him from the event haven’t been released yet.

Gerber and Elordi were a couple for several months in 2020 and early 2021.

In 2019, Gerber briefly dated comedian Pete Davidson, who previously had a relationship with Kim Kardashian. Kardashian herself was also present at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

This comes a month after Gerber said she found her mom Crawford’s naked photo shoots empowering.

Growing up, the model and actress was surrounded by nude portraits of her mother, a famous supermodel. However, she didn’t see the photos as inappropriate and believes they actually helped her develop a positive body image and avoid feeling shame.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Kaya explained that she saw the work as artistic, not exploitative or overly suggestive.

‘[It was a] gift to grow up in a house that was without shame for the female body.’

Kaia started taking after her mother, Cindy, when she was a teenager. Cindy, now 59, always waited for her daughter to ask for advice, but she wasn’t shy about being completely honest when Kaia did come to her. Cindy also shares a 26-year-old son, Presley, with her husband Rande Gerber.

Kaia said: ‘She doesn’t give out advice unless you ask/

If you ask for her opinion, be prepared for complete honesty – it can be tough to hear sometimes. She’s usually right, which is frustrating, but she’s also generous enough to let me repeat mistakes she made decades ago.

Kaia began homeschooling at age 15 to focus on her modeling work. She was only 10 years old when she first appeared in a Versace campaign for childrenswear, and remembers feeling quite puzzled by the experience.

It was so strange, honestly. I remember being surrounded by all these grown-ups – not just my mom and dad, but other people too – and they were all just… looking at me, like I held the answers! It felt like the weight of figuring things out had suddenly fallen on my shoulders, and they were waiting for me to tell them what to do next.

‘I couldn’t decide I wasn’t in the mood that day.

When I was younger, I pretended to be more mature than I felt. Now that I’m comfortable with who I am as an adult, I’m okay with being a little imperfect and letting my playful side show.

The actress from Palm Royale quickly became a successful model, and she enjoys fully embodying different roles for her fashion show appearances.

Honestly, it’s just… amazing to me how she gets it. She basically said she’s totally okay with being exactly what everyone needs her to be! Like, she understands she’s a blank slate, a mirror for us to see ourselves in. It’s not lost on her at all – she wants to be that for people, a canvas for our imaginations. I think it’s beautiful, honestly. She’s so selfless and understands the power she has, and she’s happy to wield it for us.

But Kaia finds balance with acting, particularly working in theatre.

Oh my gosh, she gets it, you know? She said it’s theatre she loves because it lives on in the memories of the people who see it, not just endlessly online. And it hit me so hard – she feels like everything she does, every picture, gets snatched away and just…exists out there, not really hers anymore. It’s like, the experience isn’t sacred, it’s just…data. I totally understand that feeling, honestly. It’s like she’s protecting something precious!

What I love about theatre is similar to how I remember being a child. I lived through it one way, and the audience experienced it another. I can’t relive it as a spectator – I can only remember it from my own perspective.
