Jonathan Ross’ daughter Honey Kinny, 28, finds love with video producer Gav Murphy, 40, as the couple celebrate their first Valentine’s Day together

Honey Ross spent her first Valentine’s Day with her boyfriend, Gav Murphy, after they began dating last year.

Jonathan Ross’s 28-year-old daughter, and screenwriter Jane Goldman’s daughter, shared a peek at her date night with a 40-year-old YouTuber on Instagram this weekend.

The couple first appeared together on the red carpet in August at the UK premiere of the film, Caught Stealing.

Since then, Honey has been posting cute pictures of them together on social media, and Gav frequently expresses his affection for her publicly in the comments.

In recent photos, he’s been leaving sweet comments like ‘Such a beauty,’ ‘WOW,’ and ‘Perfect girl ❤️’.

Valentine’s Day was all about romance for me and my partner! We enjoyed a lovely dinner out, and I couldn’t resist sharing a photo of how beautiful she looked – I captioned it with a simple ‘Oh come on now’ and a heart-eyes emoji because she truly took my breath away.

Last year, during a visit to Disney World in Florida, he openly displayed his affection for her by wearing a T-shirt with her name, ‘HONEY ROSS,’ printed on it.

It seems Jonathan and Jane, Honey’s parents, approve of her partner. They were photographed with the couple at Disneyland, all wearing matching Mickey Mouse ears.

Gav runs a video production company and a popular YouTube channel called RKG. On RKG, he and his friends Daniel Krupa and Rory Powers play video games together.

Jonathan is a passionate gamer who even started his own game studio, Hotsauce Interactive. They’ve developed popular mobile games, including Catcha Catcha Aliens.

He’s a dedicated enthusiast and avid collector with experience working alongside Microsoft Studios, lending his voice to popular games such as Fable and Halo.

Gav recently talked about his girlfriend’s well-known father on his gaming channel, specifically during a question-and-answer video he posted in December.

He remembered a humiliating experience: Jonathan had searched for his birthday online and stumbled upon a less-than-flattering nickname people used for him.

Okay, so he finally talked about Honey! He said things are going really well, he’s got a new girlfriend, and it’s… interesting. But the real story is her parents! Seriously, they are so active online, it’s like dealing with the most internet-savvy parents ever. I’m living for this drama, honestly!

I recall she received a text from her dad because we were planning a trip and he needed to find out my birthday. He Googled ‘Gav Murphy RKG’ and the first result was a nickname: ‘The Grotmeister’.

He then started texting me, pretending to be this character called ‘Grot,’ asking if I could get ‘Grotmeister’ involved with something at the airport. When I saw the message, I immediately realized it complicated things a lot.

However, Gav added: ‘Luckily he’s quite grotty so it’s fine.’

In 2024, Jonathan made news when he jokingly compared himself and his wife, Jane, to ‘dirty hamsters in straw,’ revealing he doesn’t shower very often – less than once a week.

During an appearance on the Parenting Hell podcast, the comedian expressed his dislike of grooming, bluntly asking if anyone would expect him to spend extra time on it.

I really dislike having to shower. I often go a week or more without one, and Jane does too. We’re basically like hamsters nesting in their bedding when we’re in bed.

I was a little surprised when Jonathan finally admitted he last showered yesterday. He then immediately got defensive, asking why anyone would shower two days straight and pointing out he hadn’t even worked out! It felt a bit unnecessary, honestly.

He admitted to once going fourteen days without a shower while in Florida, mistakenly believing he’d been swimming. He realized his mistake when he noticed he still didn’t smell fresh.

He mentioned that during a Florida vacation – they have a house there because of the warm weather – he likely went about two weeks without showering properly, as he was constantly getting in and out of the pool.

I noticed a bad smell under my right arm, so I tried to wash it away with a shower. But it didn’t go away, so I took another one, and it still wouldn’t disappear.

I’m telling the truth – I actually had to shave a patch of hair under my arm because it was really stuck and bothering me. I only did one armpit, though. Why bother with both? The other one still had new hair growing. I prefer using one arm, so my right arm was doing all the lifting.

He mentioned that he sometimes showers before taking a bath to avoid sitting in dirty water and skin flakes.

He also mentioned doing something unusual – showering before taking a bath, which he said is a common practice in Japan.

Let me explain why I always say skipping a pre-sleep shower can actually be beneficial. Think about it – when you sleep, your body naturally sheds skin cells and oils. Why would you want to wash all that away and then immediately lie back down in it? It just seems counterintuitive to me. You’re essentially cleaning yourself just to re-expose yourself to those natural byproducts. I recommend letting your skin do its thing overnight and freshening up in the morning instead!

Before he met Honey, Gav was with artist Clara Sinclair, and together they adopted his chihuahua, Coco.

Honey used to date musician Zane Saz for several years. They even appeared together on the show Celebrity Gogglebox, alongside Honey’s dad, Jonathan.

Before her relationships with Gav and Zane, she wrote an article for The Times Style magazine about the challenges of dating as a plus-size woman. In the article, she explained that men often either overly sexualized her or treated her as if she wasn’t sexual at all.

The body positivity advocate shared that men often send her private messages attempting to flirt, but are unwilling to acknowledge their attraction to her publicly due to her weight.

She shared that many men who contact her online wouldn’t approach her in person, even though they send flattering messages privately. It’s as if their attraction to larger bodies is something they’re ashamed to admit publicly – a secret they keep hidden.

Honey has spoken openly about the long-held pressure she felt to lose weight. Now, she embraces her figure, believing it helps her identify quality partners – and feels she’s now attracting a higher caliber of men than before.

As someone with a pretty active online presence, I definitely get a lot of unwanted sexual attention – whether it’s through dating apps or direct messages on platforms like Instagram. It’s something I addressed a while back, and it’s unfortunately just part of being visible online.

I’m getting a lot of private messages and follows from both people I know and strangers. It’s interesting because many of these same people wouldn’t publicly engage with my posts, like liking or commenting.

‘Their desire for fat bodies is their dirty secret, hidden in inboxes across the world.’

As someone who’s spent years observing how people interact, I’ve seen a really troubling pattern emerge. This activist and producer shared with me how she’s been constantly subjected to unwanted sexual advances, to the point where it’s become a disturbing obsession for some men. She described receiving incredibly graphic and aggressive opening lines – things like being told she looks ‘edible’ or facing threats of violence, like someone saying they’d ‘skin’ her. It’s a stark reminder of how deeply ingrained this kind of dehumanizing behavior can be, and how damaging it is for women.

She also shared that many plus-size women face similar challenges when dating, often having to navigate not only their own self-image, but also how their partner and society perceive them.

Honey explained that on dates, men frequently focused solely on her body size, with some explicitly stating they prefer dating women with larger builds and aren’t attracted to thinner women.

She used to include a self-deprecating joke on her dating profile saying she was ‘fatter in person,’ but recently discovered others were using similar phrases as a way to subtly warn other app users about their appearance.

Honey explained that she used to feel insecure because her thin friends often received more positive attention online than she did.

She explained that her friends were shocked to learn just how many hateful messages Honey receives.

She finished by sharing that she’s decided she deserves more than being treated poorly and won’t accept it anymore.
