Jonah Hill reveals why he ditched LA for a ‘very small town’ to raise kids with model wife as he joins Tinseltown exodus

Jonah Hill recently joined a growing number of celebrities who have chosen to leave Los Angeles for a more peaceful lifestyle.

Okay, so I was listening to SmartLess today, and you will NOT believe what I found out! Apparently, our favorite director, he’s 42, by the way – seriously, how?! – was talking about where he and Olivia are raising their kids. San Diego! Can you believe it? San Diego! He actually said it. I’m officially plotting a move. It’s just… knowing they’re there makes everything better, you know?

The actor, who recently revealed he’s married and has a new baby, said he wanted to move away from Los Angeles to raise his family somewhere else.

I’ve been following David Hill for a while now, and I learned from People magazine that he moved away from his hometown about three years ago. He ended up in a really tiny town, and he’s always talked about how amazing his neighbors are – he says they’re incredible! It sounds like he’s really found a great community there.

The actor shared that people around him are very normal and don’t pry into his personal life or career. He specifically mentioned a close friend and neighbor, Dr. Sean, who is also at the event, and how Dr. Sean has always been respectful and hasn’t treated him any differently because of his job.

He also acknowledged his wife, who was present, calling her his best friend.

The screenwriter, while on stage at the Avalon Hollywood, called out to his wife, Liv, asking, ‘Where are you? Hi, honey!’

He shared details about growing up in Los Angeles with the podcast hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett.

I was raised here, and Los Angeles was a really exciting place to be a kid in the nineties. You could skateboard downtown, sneak into movie premieres, or catch a comedy show – I remember seeing Chris Rock at a club once.

The actor from Superbad explained that growing up, he was exposed to both the entertainment industry and more rebellious subcultures like punk, skating, and graffiti. He also pointed out that because there was no internet back then, it created a really unique and exciting environment.

He recently surprised everyone by sharing a lot of personal news while talking with Martin Scorsese.

He shared that he’s married and now has two children. He jokingly added that the only thing that could ever keep him away from his family would be work in the editing room.

Jordan Hill and Millar, whose mother is the famous 1980s model Esmé Marshall, were first seen together in Santa Barbara in September 2022.

They welcomed their first child in June 2023.

Hill and his family recently joined a growing number of celebrities who are choosing a quieter life outside of Hollywood.

In 2022, comedian Nikki Glaser moved back to her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, after building a successful career in the entertainment industry in Southern California.

The beginning of Nikki Glaser’s move was shown on her E! reality show, Welcome Home Nikki Glaser?, and included appearances by her parents, EJ and Julie Glaser.

She mentioned on Live With Kelly and Mark last week that she now lives in St. Louis. She explained she moved back there after the COVID-19 pandemic, wanting to escape the hustle and bustle and find some peace.

In March, Luke Grimes, known for his role in Yellowstone, appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast to talk about his decision to leave Hollywood and move to Montana.

He moved with wife Bianca Rodrigues Grimes and their one-year-old son Rigel.
