Since it started streaming earlier this year, Netflix’s series has quickly become a hit. The show, which has six episodes, has now been watched by so many people that it’s officially become one of the platform’s most popular shows ever.

The new series His & Hers has quickly become a global hit on Netflix, landing at number 10 on the list of most popular shows ever. It’s been viewed for a total of 428.9 million hours by 98.2 million accounts. It’s closely following Bridgerton Season 3, which has 106 million views, but still trails Wednesday Season 1, which remains the most popular with 252.1 million views. Other shows in the top 10 include Adolescence, Stranger Things, The Queen’s Gambit, and Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

His & Hers Is Based on the Alice Feeney Novel

The limited series His & Hers was created by William Oldroyd and written by Alice Feeney. Starring Tessa Thompson as Anna, a former news reporter, and Jon Bernthal as Jack, her detective husband, the show is a suspenseful crime thriller. When a murder happens in their small Georgia hometown, Anna and Jack are drawn back together, but find themselves on opposing sides of the investigation. Each episode offers viewpoints from both Anna and Jack, keeping viewers guessing about who is truthful and who might be a suspect.

Author B.A. Paris shared with Netflix’s Tudum that it’s been seven years since she first wrote the novel His & Hers in her garden shed, and she’s thrilled to see it adapted into a TV series. She expressed her deep affection for the story and the series itself, and gratitude to everyone involved in bringing her vision to life.

Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal Lead the Cast

She loved the actors, saying it was incredible to see the characters she’d imagined for so long finally brought to life. She especially remembered meeting one of the actors, Tessa, on set – he was already in costume as Jack Harper, which felt very strange and exciting. She felt Tessa and Jon were perfectly cast as Anna and Jack, and witnessing her creations come to life was a truly surreal experience.

Let me tell you, the cast of His & Hers is seriously stacked! You’ve got Jon Bernthal and Judith Thompson leading the way, but they’re surrounded by some fantastic actors. Pablo Schreiber, who you might recognize from Halo, is great, as is Marin Ireland from Sneaky Pete. Sunita Mani (GLOW), Rebecca Rittenhouse (The Mindy Project), Crystal Fox (In the Heat of the Night), Chris Bauer (For All Mankind), and Poppy Liu (Dead Ringers) all deliver really strong performances too. It’s a truly impressive ensemble.

Thompson not only starred in the series but also worked as an executive producer. Joining her as executive producers were Oldroyd, Dee Johnson, Kelly Carmichael, Jessica Chastain, Kishori Rajan, and Bill Dubuque.
