John Nolan, famous for playing roles in films like Batman Begins and the TV series Person of Interest, has died at 87 years old.
He died on Saturday, according to the Stratford-upon-Avon Herald.
The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE how important this guy was! He’s actually Christopher and Jonathan Nolan’s uncle, and he seriously helped them get their start. Like, he was a HUGE influence on them when they were first figuring things out – a total behind-the-scenes hero for my favorite filmmakers!
Liam Nolan is best known for playing Douglas Fredericks, a member of the board at Wayne Enterprises, in the films Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). These films were directed by his nephew, Christopher Nolan.
He collaborated with Christopher Nolan, acting in the 1998 thriller Following and the 2017 war film Dunkirk.
In television, Nolan was featured prominently in Person of Interest, created by Jonathan.
He appeared as John Greer, a past MI6 agent, during the show’s second season and remained involved with the production team for the rest of the series.
