John Mellencamp has reached a significant milestone in his relationship with Kristin Kehrberg, having been together for over three years.

The 74-year-old rock ‘n’ roll pioneer and his 57-year-old millionaire partner seemed happy and secure as they walked hand-in-hand in New York City on Sunday.

The couple looked perfectly coordinated in casual clothes. Mellencamp was wearing loose black pants with a long black shirt over a white tee.

Kehrberg looked effortlessly cool in a relaxed outfit: faded jeans, a black leather jacket, and a T-shirt that coordinated with her partner’s.

John Mellencamp, known for his hit song “Jack and Diane,” recently gave an honest update about his daughter Teddi Mellencamp’s fight with cancer. He styled his graying hair neatly, while Teddi wore her blonde hair long and flowing.

They both looked stylish with their dark sunglasses, which shielded their eyes from the sun and completed their look.

They’ve been a twosome since early 2023 after meeting at a house party.

Prior to her relationship with the musician, Kehrberg was married to Richard Tarlow, an advertising executive, who passed away in May 2022.

Back in October 2024, Mellencamp shared his take on his relationship with Kehrberg with People.

He said they’d been dating for about two years, which he was happy with. He also admitted he wasn’t perfect, despite feeling fortunate.

John Mellencamp recently confessed he wasn’t a good boyfriend to his former fiancée, Meg Ryan.

He blamed himself for the end of the off-and-on romance that came to a final stop in 2019.

In a 2023 interview with Esquire, John Mellencamp spoke about his decade-long relationship with Meg Ryan, revealing she doesn’t feel the same way about him. He described her as ‘a great girl’ but admitted he was ‘a terrible boyfriend’.

John Mellencamp’s recent collaboration with Kehrberg follows his public statements regarding his daughter Teddi Mellencamp’s fight against Stage 4 cancer.

During an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast on January 14th, he revealed that his daughter was ‘very ill’.

He shared that Kyle Richards’ sister, Kim, is battling brain cancer and is currently in a lot of pain, stating, ‘It’s really not easy for her right now.’

The remarks quickly raised fears that Teddi’s condition had taken a sudden turn.

Teddi Mellencamp, 44, responded to recent comments on her podcast, Two T’s in a Pod, clarifying that her father hadn’t experienced a new health issue. She discussed this with her co-host, Tamra Judge.

Teddi explained that when he used the word “suffering,” he was referring to her emotional state rather than any physical pain she might be experiencing.

Teddi shared an update on her health, explaining that her cancer hasn’t returned, but her condition remains stable. She’s still considered stage four and continues to receive immunotherapy, meaning there haven’t been any significant changes. While she’d hoped to be feeling better by now, she admitted she still doesn’t.

Teddi did admit that the emotional weight of the past year is only now catching up with her.

Honestly, looking back, I barely dealt with everything at once! It was just…so much. First, the divorce from Edwin, and then BAM – emergency surgery! It was completely overwhelming, and the worst part was not being able to see my kids while I was trying to recover. I just tried to push it all down, I guess, but it was a really tough time.

But she added that therapy has helped her confront the toll it’s taken.

Oh my gosh, I was SO worried when I heard about her! She’s a mom to three amazing kids – Slate, Cruz, and little Dove – and it just broke my heart to learn she was diagnosed with melanoma back in 2022. I’ve been following her journey ever since, and I just want her to be okay! Her ex, Edwin Arroyave, is the father of those sweet kids, and I’m sending all the positive vibes their way.

In April 2025, she shared that her illness had advanced to its final stage and spread to her lungs and brain.

Teddi has had 17 melanomas removed from her back, but unfortunately, doctors later found the cancer had already spread to other parts of her body, even after those surgeries.
