A new trailer has been released for the upcoming movie, Jack Ryan: Ghost War, featuring John Krasinski reprising his role as CIA analyst Jack Ryan.
John Krasinski, known for his role in The Office, starred as Jack Ryan from 2018 to 2023, but Prime Video canceled the show after four seasons. Unexpectedly, in late 2024, the streaming service announced a continuation of the story in a movie format. Krasinski will return, along with Wendell Pierce, Michael Kelly, and Betty Gabriel, for a film called Ghost War.
Prime Video has released a new trailer for the upcoming season of Jack Ryan, titled Ghost War. The trailer suggests this season will be particularly personal for Jack Ryan, though it will still be packed with the same intense danger and high stakes fans expect. You can watch the Jack Ryan: Ghost War trailer below.
I just finished watching this thriller, and it’s a real ride! It centers around Jack, who’s actually trying to live a normal life after leaving the spy game, but gets pulled back in when a huge international conspiracy surfaces. He and his team – including characters like Mike November and James Greer – are suddenly racing against the clock, trying to stop something massive. What makes it so tense is that their enemy always seems one step ahead, predicting their every move. It’s a classic cat-and-mouse game, but with seriously high stakes!
The trailer opens with Jack jogging when a black SUV pulls up and disrupts his quiet life. Inside the vehicle is James Greer, Jack’s old boss from the CIA. Greer asks for Jack’s help with a new assignment, but Jack immediately refuses. “I’m not doing whatever it is,” he states firmly. Greer simply replies, “I just need you to meet a guy.”
Even after initially refusing to take the case, Jack is brought back in as an undercover operative. He communicates with Mike November through a headset, and Mike admits he misses working directly on investigations. While on what looks like a riverboat, a mysterious man tells Jack that his contact sent him because he was afraid – and that fear was justified. The man is immediately shot and collapses.
Jack leaps from the boat onto another, smaller boat and quickly gets into a fight with the person driving it. The scene then introduces Emma Marlowe, a new character and MI6 officer played by Sienna Miller, who immediately tells Jack to raise his hands.
Marlowe interrogates Jack about a secret, unofficial team specializing in psychological warfare and assassinations. Working with an MI6 officer, Jack tries to dismantle the group, which Greer describes as being composed of highly skilled and dangerous people who will relentlessly carry out their training.
The trailer continues with relentless action – fast car chases, intense gun battles, and huge explosions. It all builds to a dramatic moment where Marlowe plunges through a glass floor, and Jack tries to catch her.
Andrew Bernstein, known for directing episodes of the Jack Ryan television series, is directing Ghost War, a new R-rated film. The screenplay is by Aaron Rabin and John Krasinski.
John Krasinski leads the production team, which also includes Allyson Seeger, Andrew Form, John J. Kelly, Alexa Ginsburg, Carlton Cuse, and the author of the popular Jack Ryan novels, Tom Clancy. Joining Krasinski in Ghost War are actors Max Beesley, JJ Feild, and Douglas Hodge.
Jack Ryan: Ghost War will be released on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, on Prime Video.
