Jessica Simpson’s son Ace appears to have gone through a major growth spurt in just six months.

The singer, 45, posted a new black-and-white photo on Instagram showing her 12-year-old son. He’s already much taller than her – he towers over her at a height of well over her own four feet three inches.

Ace had his arm around his petite parent and was seen giving her a nice kiss on the forehead.

Simpson shared a photo and wrote that her 12-year-old son, Ace, is now taller than her, adding heart and love emojis to the post.

The post included lyrics from Ben E. King’s song “Stand By Me,” a meaningful choice for the singer. This comes shortly after she revealed a new partnership with Chicken of the Sea – a brand she last worked with over two decades ago following a well-known mishap on a reality TV show.

‘Fun fact… he was born to this tune,’ she added in the caption.

Photos Jessica Simpson shared on Instagram last July, celebrating her son Ace’s 12th birthday at Six Flags, showed him looking a few inches shorter than her.

Simpson shared a heartfelt birthday message, writing, ‘Happy 12th Birthday Ace! You bring so much joy – you’re like sunshine, the moon, and every wish upon a star. You’re a guiding light and everything wonderful!’

You fill my heart with so much love and joy! You’re amazing at everything you do, and it seems to come so naturally to you. You have a kind heart and a special ability to succeed at anything you set your mind to. I am incredibly proud of everything you are and everything you do. I love you, Ace!

It’s completely normal for kids and teens to grow in spurts. Girls usually have their biggest growth period between ages 10 and 14, while boys typically grow the most between 12 and 16. Because of this, Ace probably still has some growing left to do.

Jessica Simpson was thrilled to launch her spring fashion line, inspired by ‘boho Texas’ style, now available at Walmart.

The mother of three looked stunning in recent Instagram photos, showcasing a variety of outfits including lingerie, a blouse with jeans, a knitted hoodie and shorts, and accessorizing with large gold-rimmed sunglasses and jewelry.

Simpson’s line ranges from sizes XS to 5X and everything is priced under $60.

Back in July, while on the Today show, Jenna Bush Hager playfully asked Jessica Simpson if she was open to dating and offered to set her up with someone.

Simpson replied with excitement, saying she was definitely interested. She confirmed she’s currently single and eager to start a relationship, adding, ‘I’m really ready!’

Bush Hager then questioned: ‘What are you into so I can set my criteria?’

Simpson explained: ‘My type of person is one of a kind. I don’t have a look, or anything.

‘I just like for somebody to be individually, who they are. And exude confidence without the ego.

It’s difficult to locate, but I believe it exists. I don’t require constant support from others.

It would be great to be able to share the freedom and independence I currently enjoy with someone else.

Simpson announced her split from Eric Johnson in January 2025 after 10 years of marriage.

She announced on Instagram that she and Eric were living apart and working through a difficult time in their marriage.

‘Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. 

We’re so thankful for all the kind wishes and support we’ve received. We’re asking for privacy as we navigate this challenging time together as a family.

In a statement to People magazine, Simpson revealed that she and Eric have been living apart and working through difficulties in their marriage.
