Jennifer Garner gives mom Pat, 87, a hand while heading to church with teenage kids Fin and Samuel on Easter

Jennifer Garner lovingly accompanied her mother and children to church in Los Angeles on Easter Sunday.

The actress, 53, helped her 87-year-old mother, Patricia, during a family outing, and the two were stylishly coordinated in purple outfits.

Jennifer Garner, known for her role on Alias, wore a long ombré dress with a gently flared bottom. She completed the look with a dark cardigan casually draped over her shoulders.

Pat dressed in a long-sleeved, patterned shirt and a burgundy vest, paired with navy trousers. She completed her look with a coordinating walking stick, leaning on it for support.

Jennifer Garner was joined by her children, 17-year-old Fin and 14-year-old Samuel, who she shares with her former husband, Ben Affleck, 53.

The exes are also parents to their firstborn child, Violet, 20. 

The family is celebrating Easter shortly after Garner shared that her mother, now in her eighties, has begun enjoying being in front of the camera after appearing in a few of her cooking videos.

The celebrity frequently shares photos and videos of her mother online, even including her in segments for her popular Pretend Cooking Show. Patricia is enjoying the attention her appearances are bringing her.

According to Garner, she enjoys making people laugh and loves the attention she gets when people acknowledge her. She also has strong opinions and isn’t afraid to share them about what others should do.

The mother of three shared that her daughter often tells her the episodes she appears in are the most successful and highest quality.

I completely trust her judgment – she’s never steered me wrong in over five decades, so I see no reason to doubt her now.

Garner fondly remembered a couple of early cooking attempts. She laughed about making bagels, and then recounted a more chaotic experience where her beef bourguignon nearly set her kitchen on fire.

She explained that she loves having her mom around because she’s adorable and always a joy to be with. She also playfully described her mom as a fantastic acting partner.

In January Garner treated her mom to a trip to see one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, who maintain a friendly relationship as parents, were seen together on Saturday while out with their son.

Oh my gosh, can you believe they were married for ten whole years? From 2005, it felt like forever! It was so heartbreaking when they announced their separation in 2015, and then it was finally official – the divorce was finalized in 2018. I was absolutely devastated, honestly. It just… it felt like the end of an era.

In a February interview on Bustle’s One Nightstand podcast, Jennifer Garner described how co-parenting works for her. She explained that with her children living between two homes, she often takes on both parental roles, while their father does the same.

It’s understandable if you struggle with balance. When parents aren’t united in their approach, it’s important to try and incorporate different perspectives to provide well-rounded guidance.

There’s a trade-off – while something is lost, something else is gained. It’s taught me to relax and worry less about controlling everything.
