James Martin’s stunning girlfriend Kim Johnson, 39, ‘CONFIRMS’ her engagement to the TV chef, 53, after he insisted he’d never get married

Kim Johnson, James Martin’s girlfriend, appears to have confirmed they are engaged after rumors surfaced that he proposed over Christmas.

The 39-year-old personal trainer and the 53-year-old chef have been together for two years and appear to be getting married, even though he had previously said he would never wed.

Kim shared a photo on Instagram of a recent dish made by her fiancé, James, with the message: ‘So proud of my fiancé’.

Daily Mail have contacted James Martin’s representatives for comment.  

The chef reportedly proposed to his partner last month and then gave her a £150,000 Land Rover as an engagement gift.

This proposal is a surprising change of heart for James, who had previously said he never wanted to get married.

You know, I’ve been asked about marriage a lot over the years, and honestly, it’s just not something I’m interested in. It’s funny, but after working at so many weddings, seeing everything that goes into them, it’s kind of taken the romance out of it for me. I’ve seen behind the scenes, and it’s just not my cup of tea, personally.

I respect those who enjoy extravagant experiences, but I’m perfectly content with my own life. I don’t feel the need to spend a fortune on a single day, and I’m happy with that.

People first noticed James and Kim were dating when they were seen shopping for jewelry at Tiffany’s in Mayfair last April.

In October, the couple seemed to become more serious when she moved in with him at his house in the countryside of Hampshire.

James is engaged to Kim, two years after ending his 12-year relationship with Louise Davies.

The chef and the TV producer started dating in 2011 after meeting while working on the show Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? They then moved in together at the chef’s home in Hampshire.

James and Louise separated in December 2023, but they continue to be friends, according to a statement from James’s representative.

Kim was once married to businessman Arun Nayar, who is now 61. They began dating in 2011, shortly after Arun’s divorce from Elizabeth Hurley, which ended their four-year marriage.

Oh my gosh, I was SO thrilled when Arun and Kim finally got married in July 2016, after dating for five whole years! I really thought they were meant to be. But then… it just didn’t last. I was devastated to hear they got divorced the very next year. It was such a shock!

Last summer, James faced a public scandal after crew members on his ITV food show accused him of bullying and being intimidating.

More reports surfaced, this time involving ITV. They claimed the network had known about James’ behavior before, as a similar incident occurred in 2018 and was brought to their attention.

James then apologized for how he had acted and explained that he was going through a difficult time personally.

He shared a difficult period in his life, starting with his grandfather’s passing, followed by a frightening home invasion, and then a cancer diagnosis.

In July, ITV confirmed they had addressed concerns about how crew members were treated while filming James Martin’s Spanish Adventure in May. These concerns prompted the conversation with the show’s star.

In 2018, further reports surfaced of another incident involving ITV. This time, James Martin reportedly unleashed a string of abusive language at staff after a blocked drain at his house disrupted the filming of his show, James Martin’s Saturday Morning.

ITV executives, following a review of the situation, have informed Blue Marlin, the show’s production company, that adjustments will be made right away, according to Deadline.

James responded by saying ‘lessons have been learned’ and apologised for ‘acting emotionally’.

ITV executives will be carefully monitoring any future filming involving the chef, who is popular with viewers due to his friendly personality.
