Despite numerous fans being amused by her apparent dismay upon realizing she was about to have more boys than girls, some found her reaction disappointing, expressing that she should instead be joyful over the prospect of a healthy newborn child.

On Saturday, Sophie defended herself on Instagram, stating that feelings of disappointment related to a child’s gender are legitimate and deserve more open discussion.

She insisted that she was ‘incredibly grateful’ to be having another child, but admitted that she had ‘always dreamed of having a daughter’.

Instead of merely wanting a daughter for the sake of dressing her up or sharing clothes and going shopping together, my desire was more profound. I wished to attend significant milestones in her life such as her prom, her wedding, the birth of her children, and even take trips together just for women.

As someone who shares similar sentiments, let me assure you that your feelings are entirely valid. Being pregnant doesn’t define your worth as a person, nor does it make you less appreciated. I eagerly look forward to the journey of nurturing another boy, and I believe this is my destiny.

Multiple supporters responded positively, with one commenting: “It’s unnecessary for you to justify yourself… experiencing disappointment about a baby’s gender is indeed a genuine emotion.”
