Jack Black cancels tour following backlash over co-star’s controversial comment

As a long-time fan of Tenacious D and Jack Black, I’m deeply disappointed by the recent turn of events that led to the cancellation of their tour. The controversy surrounding Kyle Gass’s on-stage comment about former US president Donald Trump has left me feeling disillusioned and saddened.

Due to contentious remarks made by Kyle Gass, the remaining concerts scheduled for Tenacious D with Jack Black have been called off.

At a performance in Australia on July 14, Gass made a reference to the recent assassination attempt against former U.S. president Donald Trump during a cake-cutting ceremony on stage with Black.

After Black asked him to make a wish, Gass allegedly replied: “Don’t miss Trump next time.”

After the remarks made in the comments, Black has released an Instagram statement. He expressed surprise over the comment and announced that the remaining shows on the tour have been called off.

He was taken by surprise with the controversial remarks made at the concert on Sunday. I don’t endorse hate speech or instigate political violence in any shape or form. After careful consideration, I believe it is no longer suitable for me to carry on with the Tenacious D tour, and all upcoming creative projects have been put on hold. I appreciate the fans’ backing and their comprehension during this time.

Gass issued an apology on Instagram for his inappropriate and harmful remark made during the Sydney show: “The off-the-cuff line at my Sydney performance last Sunday was regrettable, posing a danger and a mistake. I unequivocally denounce any form of violence towards anyone.”

Reflecting on the past events, I deeply regret my actions that led to a tragic outcome. With the wisdom and experience I’ve gained over time, I now realize the gravity of my poor judgment at that moment. I extend my sincere apologies to those who were affected and let down by my mistake. The pain I’ve caused is something I carry with me every day, and it serves as a painful reminder of the consequences of careless actions. I’m committed to learning from this experience and being more mindful in the future.

On July 13, Saturday, at a rally in Pennsylvania, an individual named Thomas Matthew Crooks, who is a Republican, attempted to assassinate Trump by firing shots during the event.

Previously held president fell to the earth as Secret Service intervened for safety, resulting in an wounded ear. However, the ex-president assured everyone he’s “okay.” A criminal met his end at the location, while one attendee lost their life and two sustained severe injuries.

After the attack occurred, the British channel, Channel 4, decided to cancel the broadcast of “Lisa the Iconoclast,” an episode of The Simpsons. Some viewers assumed this was due to a scene depicting a gunman on a rooftop, while others believed it could be because of the episode’s theme. In this storyline, Springfield’s founder is uncovered as a pirate who attempted to assassinate George Washington.
