ITV’s “thrillingly suspenseful” and “gripping” drama with Ashley Walters is ‘unlike anything else’

Ashley Walters and Andrea Riseborough are the latest actors to join the cast of First Woman, a new and exciting drama coming to ITV. It’s being described as a suspenseful and unique series, different from anything viewers have seen before.

The new six-episode series features Top Boy and Adolescence actor, Micheal Ward, as Ben Reith. He wakes up to discover his wife, Claire (played by Riseborough), is missing, launching a worldwide mystery filled with international suspense.

The story follows Claire, an astronaut stationed at the UK’s first moonbase, who has gone missing during the lengthy lunar night. She’s also notable as the first woman to ever walk on the moon, according to ITV.

Okay, so my wife’s a biologist on this huge research mission, and she’s gone missing. It’s seriously messed up because it’s throwing suspicion on everyone else on the team, and even people at the Chinese base nearby. We’re talking hundreds of thousands of miles away from Earth, and now I’m stuck trying to figure out what happened to her. I have to find out the truth, even if it’s the last thing I do.

Lydia Yeoman, along with George Oakes and Ben Schiffer, wrote the scripts for this series, which promises to be full of suspense. Philip Martin is directing, aiming for a grand, movie-like feel.
