ITV’s sun-soaked mystery drama with The Responder star as a “grieving detective” is streaming now

The new ITV mystery drama, A Taste for Murder, is now available for streaming. Featuring Warren Brown, known from The Responder, the series centers around a detective coping with loss who travels to Capri to stay with his in-laws after his wife’s death.

I’m really invested in this story about a dad trying to rebuild his relationship with his teenage daughter, Beau Gadsdon, after something awful happens. It gets even more interesting when a body washes up on the beach and he ends up working with a local detective to figure out what happened!

You can now watch all six episodes of the series on ITVX, and it’s available even sooner than originally planned! It was previously set to release on May 13th.

Okay, so in this new mystery, A Taste for Murder, my character, DCI Joe Mottram, gets sent to the beautiful island of Capri. It’s pretty cool because my in-laws are there – they own this seaside restaurant, and they’re totally welcoming. The chef, Gennaro, is played by Urbano Barberini, and Phyllis Logan plays my mother-in-law, Elena. It seems like a nice vacation spot, but I have a feeling trouble’s brewing!

Joe isn’t looking for trouble, but when a man is found dead on the beach and his nephew, Luca, is arrested for the crime, he’s pulled into the investigation. This puts him at odds with local Inspector Lara Sarrancino, played by Cristiana Dell’Anna.

They form an uneasy alliance and work together to solve strange crimes happening on the island. As Joe learns to cook Italian food, he unexpectedly finds that his culinary journey provides clues and understanding that aid his investigations. This ultimately helps him grow as a cook, a father, and a detective.

As the investigation continues, the island’s peaceful facade begins to crumble, revealing a complex network of lies. This forces Joe to face a shocking reality that completely changes his life.

Matt Baker, the creator of Professor T, describes the new series as both a family drama and a detective story.

He explained the series explores the challenges of keeping relationships strong while dealing with trauma and loss, all set against the backdrop of strange murders deeply connected to the stunning Mediterranean island where it takes place.
