Filming has begun for ITV’s new crime drama, Winter, starring Annabel Scholey, and the show has revealed some new additions to the cast.
In this series, Richard Armitage (known from Red Eye) plays Dr. Ethan Winter, a brilliant but unconventional forensic pathologist. He teams up with DI Lauren Bell, played by Anna Scholey (The Split), to crack the most challenging murder cases, using his sharp mind and willingness to bend the rules.
Jamie Kenna, known for his roles in House of the Dragon and Brassic, will be joining the cast, along with Adwoa Akoto (Surface), Deirdre Mullins (Bad Sisters, The Couple Next Door), and Rishi Rian (Ridley). This six-part series will feature these talented actors.

Carlotta Banat, known for 3 Body Problem, will also appear in the series, alongside Josh Barrow (Hostage, Vera), Jay Taylor, Ellis Elijah, and Evie Coles.
I just started watching this new show, and it’s seriously gripping! It’s a police procedural where this guy, Winter, is a total genius at figuring things out – like, Sherlock Holmes level deduction. He teams up with this detective, DI Bell, and she’s amazing too. She’s super focused, doesn’t mess around, and works just as hard as he does when they’re on a case. They make a really great team!

Winter and Bell are a powerful duo, with Winter’s exceptional understanding of victims proving crucial to Bell and her team of detectives as they investigate murders.
ITV has announced that each episode of the show will feature a complete, standalone crime story and a new set of guest actors for each case.
Throughout the six-episode series, a deeply personal mystery—the unsolved murder of someone Winter knew—continues to affect him. He’s determined to find the killer himself, even though it’s an unofficial investigation, and bring them to justice.

The six-episode series will be filmed in both Bristol and Belgium. We don’t have a confirmed premiere date yet.
The new series, Winter, is inspired by the French show Balthazar, which aired from 2018 to 2023. Balthazar was created by Clothilde Jamin and Clélia Constantine.
Dries Vos, known for his work on The Couple Next Door and Professor T, is directing the new series Winter. Matt Baker, also from Professor T, is a producer on the show.
Winter will air on ITV.
