Is Nuketown in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6?

As a longtime fan of the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia with the anticipation for Nuketown’s return in Black Ops 6. Having grown up playing these games and experiencing the unique charm that Nuketown brings to the table, it’s exciting to know that the developers are giving us a chance to revisit this iconic map.

Nostalgic Black Ops players sure hope so.

It’s no surprise that with Nuketown being a beloved map among the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, fans are eagerly searching for its appearance in Black Ops 6, as the game has officially been released globally.

In essence, the Nuketown map serves as an equivalent backdrop to the Black Ops environment within the Call of Duty series, given that it has been incorporated into every game starting from Black Ops 1.

However, so far, players have not managed to locate Nuketown within Black Ops 6, contrary to the statement made by Call of Duty level designer, Adam Hoggat, who mentioned in an interview with IGN that Nuketown would be included in BO6.

In Black Ops 6, you won’t find Nuketown at the initial release. But fret not! Nuketown is expected to arrive in the game more quickly than you might think.

When is Nuketown coming to Black Ops 6?

The map is coming to Black Ops 6 on Nov. 1, thus one week after the worldwide release, as DLC.

Nuketown evokes a sense of nostalgia for Black Ops series enthusiasts, mirroring the nuclear towns of the 1950s U.S., which served as testing grounds during the Cold War era. These types of towns were also portrayed in Wes Anderson’s latest film, Asteroid City, serving as its backdrop.

Essentially, the developers aim to delve into the nostalgic feeling associated with Nuketown when creating for BO6, as stated by Adam Hoggat. Over the years since BO1, they produced numerous variations of this iconic map, and now they’re planning on reintroducing the original version.

As a dedicated fan, it recently struck me that many of our players might never have played the original Call of Duty: Black Ops Nuketown. So, I’m thrilled about Black Ops 6 because it gives us an opportunity to revisit the original Nuketown, capturing the enchantment of the first game but with a more stunning visual upgrade.
