Is Bitcoin the New Royal Treasure? Blockchain Group Spends $70M on Crypto Gold!

News of the Day:

  • The Blockchain Group now holds a hefty 1,471 BTC, worth a staggering 131.9 million euros. Oh, the joys of wealth! With a yield of 1,097.6% YTD, one might say they’ve cracked the crypto code. 🤑
  • Acquisitions funded by a mere 62.1 million euros in capital operations, including the magnanimous support of Fulgur. No small feat, surely!

In a most daring move, The Blockchain Group (ALTBG), that shining star of the Euronext Growth Paris, has, with a flourish of their metaphorical pen, purchased 624 BTC for a princely sum of 60.2 million euros ($68.8 million). One must wonder if they’ve been reading too many adventure novels, or perhaps their financial strategist is just quite good at reading the room. 📚💸

Following this acquisition, the company, quite unexpectedly (or so they would like to think), conducted not one, but two substantial financing operations. Oh yes, there was the reserved capital increase, and the ever-so-charming convertible bond issuance, which surely had investors clapping their hands in approval.

On May 20, 2025, they raised a modest sum of 6.8 million euros through a private placement, funding the purchase of a mere 80 BTC. But wait, there’s more! Just six days later, they secured a further 55.3 million euros through a convertible bond issuance, subscribed by Fulgur Ventures (the generous benefactor), to acquire an additional 544 BTC. One must wonder if they’re secretly trying to buy the entire cryptocurrency market. 😂

As a result of this most ambitious undertaking, The Blockchain Group, alongside its Luxembourg-based subsidiary (don’t they sound important?), now boasts a total of 1,471 BTC. The current value? Around 131.9 million euros, averaging a cool 89,687 euros per bitcoin. Not bad, eh? 😏

Since the dawn of 2025, the company has basked in a BTC yield of 1,097.6% YTD, with a gain of 439 BTC and a delightful increase in value amounting to 42.3 million euros. Ah, the sweet scent of success. Perhaps we should all take notes… or just invest in crypto. Who knows? 😜
