Iron Maiden had a complicated relationship with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, especially during the years they weren’t inducted. While singer Bruce Dickinson openly disliked the Hall, famously calling it nonsense, other members of the band held different opinions.
It was hard to predict how the iconic metal band would react to being inducted into the Hall of Fame in November, but most people expected them to be gracious. And that’s exactly what they were, sharing a positive response on social media.
Iron Maiden announced on X that they are grateful to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2026, recognizing the contributions of all past and present members. The band feels this induction is especially fitting as they celebrate their 50th anniversary with their current world tour.

Most true rock fans agree that Miaden deserved to be inducted into the hall of fame as soon as they were eligible. They created some truly classic albums and had a huge impact on many of today’s leading metal bands.

Metallica might not have become famous without British bands. One reason it took so long to recognize a deserving band like them for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame could be the Hall’s categories. Bands can be inducted as Performers, or as Early Influences, but Iron Maiden’s debut album came out in 1980, making them ineligible for the latter category.
In 2026, the Rock Hall will also induct Phil Collins, Joy Division + New Order, Billy Idol, Sade, Iron Maiden, and Oasis as Performers. These artists hail from the UK, alongside American inductees Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 14th. However, unlike in previous years, it won’t be broadcast live. This feels like a lost chance to connect with fans in real-time. Instead, fans will be able to watch the event on ABC and stream it on Disney+ starting in December.
