Okay, so I just heard that The Walsh Sisters, which is based on those awesome Marian Keyes books, is finally coming to the BBC! I actually watched it last year on RTÉ, and it’s a really good drama. It’s six episodes long, and it’s hitting BBC iPlayer and BBC One later this month – definitely gonna be checking it out again!
The new show, The Walsh Sisters, centers around a large and quirky family – five sisters, their religious mother, and their easygoing father. Despite their chaos and flaws, they’re a family who deeply care for each other.
The series, The Walsh Sisters, is set in Dublin and follows the lives of five sisters – Anna, Rachel, Maggie, Claire, and Helen – as they experience the ups and downs of their twenties and thirties.
What to Read Next
Let me tell you, playing as the Walsh sisters is intense. It’s like stepping into a family where everyone has inside jokes that you’re never quite in on, and baggage from the past that just doesn’t seem to go away. They’ve all been through a lot – heartbreak, loss, even struggles with addiction and raising kids – but honestly? There’s this unbreakable bond. It’s like their shared history, and a seriously epic love for power ballads, keeps them clinging to each other, no matter what life throws at them. It’s messy, it’s real, and it’s totally addictive to play.
The series features Caroline Menton (known for Oddity) as Rachel, Louisa Harland (Renegade Nell) as Anna, Danielle Galligan (House of Guinness) as Claire, Mairead Tyers (Extraordinary) as Helen, and Stefanie Preissner (Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope) as Maggie.

Preissner not only acts in the show, but also co-writes it, working with Kefi Chadwick to adapt the original novels.
Aidan Quinn, known for his role in Practical Magic, and Carrie Crowley, who starred in The Quiet Girl, join the cast as Daddy and Mammy Walsh.
The drama is generally receiving positive feedback from viewers. One IMDb review praised it as “Irish TV done right,” calling The Walsh Sisters “an excellent and enjoyable watch.”

One viewer wrote that this show is off to a great start, especially for anyone who enjoys dramas focused on strong characters and the bonds between sisters or close friends. They said they’re already hooked.
One viewer shared that after watching the second episode, they found the show complex but brilliant so far.
RTÉ’s Head of Drama, David Crean, recently shared his excitement about The Walsh Sisters, calling it “a huge treat for audiences.” He announced the drama series will be part of RTÉ’s programming in 2025 and beyond.
The Walsh Sisters is slated for release on BBC iPlayer and BBC One later this month.
Okay, so the latest issue of Living Legends magazine just dropped, and it’s ALL about Taylor Swift! It’s a huge 100-page, full-color special, and as a Swiftie, I definitely grabbed a copy. You can find it at any newsstand or order it online for only £8.99 – totally worth it if you’re a fan like me!
