Cameron Diaz recently opened up about taking a break from acting and becoming a mother at age 47 in a new interview.
The actress, now 53, said that she was glad she took a break to focus on her family life.
Cameron Diaz and her husband, Benji Madden, are parents to two children: a six-year-old daughter named Raddix and a two-year-old son named Cardinal.
Cameron, who took a ten-year break from acting before returning last year, will appear with Keanu Reeves in the upcoming Apple TV film, Outcome.
She shared with Ok! Magazine how exciting it is to continue working at a high level, especially alongside talented actors like Keanu Reeves.
I’m happy I had some time off to spend with my family, who are very important to me. But I also really enjoy my work – it truly is the best job there is.
She added that she ‘loves’ being a mother and that it is the ‘best’ part of her life.
When talking about becoming a parent later in life, she simply said she was ‘just trying to survive, like all mothers are.’
This follows her recent comments about why she avoids Botox and cosmetic surgery, explaining that she prefers to age naturally.
Oh my gosh, it’s been over ten years since she admitted she wasn’t thrilled with how Botox altered her appearance! Can you believe it? She said she regretted it! And even better, she told everyone she ditched the super-heavy makeup in her forties. It’s just… so real, you know? I’ve been following her forever and it was amazing to hear her be so honest about it all.
‘I’ve tried [Botox] before, where it was like [a] little tiny touch of something,’ she recalled.
She explained to Entertainment Tonight in 2014 that a procedure drastically changed her appearance, and she immediately disliked the result.
She added: ‘I’d rather see my face aging than a face that doesn’t belong to me at all.’
Someone familiar with Cameron shared that she once felt pressured to maintain her appearance, but disliked the effect Botox had on her natural look.
According to an insider who spoke with OK Magazine, Cameron, like many others in her field, felt pressure to get cosmetic procedures like Botox.
She stopped using it years ago because she didn’t like how it altered her appearance, and it’s worked out well. She looks great and much more natural compared to many other people her age.
She will also soon star in movie The Sham alongside Stephen Merchant
In the movie ‘The Sham,’ Stephen plays a British man working at a fancy New York hotel who urgently needs a wife to keep up appearances.
Cameron’s struggling comic needs health insurance and plots a transactional fake marriage with him.
What starts as a pretend marriage for practical reasons unexpectedly blossoms into a real romance between the two.
Filming for the new Prime Video romantic comedy began in New York City last month, but it’s not yet known when it will be released.
