Rialto Pictures and STUDIOCANAL are re-releasing James Cameron’s classic film, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, in theaters.
For 35 years, this classic film has been the model for modern action movies. It made Arnold Schwarzenegger a huge star and raised the bar for science fiction with its innovative special effects and iconic electronic score. Now, STUDIOCANAL and Rialto Pictures are bringing that lasting appeal back to movie theaters.
As a huge fan, I’m so excited about this 35th-anniversary release! They’ve really gone all out to make sure it looks amazing. It’s not just one version, but four different ways to see it! You can go old-school with the original 35mm and 70mm film prints, or experience a brand new 4K restoration. They even did a 3-D version! It sounds like they’ve worked hard to deliver the film exactly how it was meant to be seen, whether you remember it from the 90s or are discovering it for the first time. It’s awesome they’re bridging that gap between classic action and modern picture quality.
Starting May 22nd, fans can see a special 35th-anniversary showing of Terminator 2: Judgment Day in theaters around the world. The film will be playing for a limited time – eight weeks – at select locations, including the IFC Center in New York, American Cinematheque in Los Angeles, and AFI Silver in Washington, D.C.
