Hysteria! trailer teases hard metal and satanism in small town Michigan
As a seasoned gamer and horror enthusiast who has spent countless nights exploring the darkest corners of virtual realms, I can confidently say that the upcoming Peacock series “Hysteria!” is shaping up to be a chilling addition to my must-watch list this fall. With its intriguing premise, the show promises to deliver a thrilling ride into the heart of the 1980s Satanic panic, a period that has always piqued my curiosity due to its unique blend of fear and fascination.
The “Peacock Series: Hysteria!” is a chilling pop-horror saga, taking place at the peak of the 1980s Satanic scare, focusing on a troubled small midwestern town besieged by a string of unexplained abductions. A teenage heavy metal band, seeking to capitalize on the satanic craze, finds itself caught up in these events as they attempt to elevate their music with this dark energy.
Excitedly, I can’t help but share that the long-awaited trailer for our beloved series has finally been released by Peacock! The entire season of eight episodes will be available to us fans on Friday, October 18. Can’t wait to binge-watch it!
The story unfolds in a serene, unremarkable small town in Michigan, where such disturbances are rarely encountered. However, a shocking assault and abduction lead to the death of their star quarterback, marking the beginning of an unsettling series of peculiar events and attacks. As strange occurrences mount, many townsfolk, particularly those with strong religious convictions, suspect that a malevolent supernatural force is responsible for the violence.
As a metalhead teenager, I and my friends were inspired by the intense fear and devotion in our town, so we thought of adding an edge to our band by embracing a more extreme subculture – Satanism. However, our playful act of pretending to be hardcore Satanists turned out to be risky when the townsfolk started a manhunt for us, believing we were the real perpetrators behind the chaos.
I’ve caught a handful of episodes of “Hysteria!” and found myself quite entertained by it. From the looks of the trailer, it seems like an engaging show that promises excitement for the upcoming fall season. I’m definitely looking forward to checking it out!
The main cast consists of Julie Bowen, Anna Camp, Emjay Anthony, Chiara Aurelia, Kezii Curtis, and Nikki Hahn. Additionally, we have some special guest stars appearing, including Bruce Campbell, Nolan North, Garrett Dillahunt, Elijah Richardson, Milly Shapiro, Allison Scagliotti, and Jessica Treska.
Apart from the excitement of “Hysteria!”, prepare yourself for another chilling original horror series by Peacock called “Teacup”. Don’t forget to mark your calendars as both shows will be available on the streaming platform next month!
I’m thrilled to share that the brilliant mind behind the scenes, Matthew Scott Kane, is the mastermind who brings us the captivating show we all love, The Orville. Alongside him in the executive producer role are the talented David A. Goodman, as well as John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. What an incredible team!
Beginning this coming Friday, October 18th, every installment of the series titled “Hysteria!” becomes available for streaming. Both USA Network and SYFY will broadcast the initial episode concurrently, while subsequent episodes will be aired on USA Network each Friday thereafter.
