You can now rent or buy Song Sung Blue, the moving biographical drama with Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson. It’s a film with strong acting and based on a truly inspiring true story, making it well worth checking out.
This movie is based on a 2008 documentary and tells the story of Mike and Claire Sardina, a performing duo known as Lightning and Thunder.
Since the late 1980s, this couple has lived in Wisconsin and built a relationship around performing the music of Neil Diamond. Their tribute act gained them a local following and made them well-known in the Milwaukee area.

Craig Brewer wrote and directed this film, which is based on a true story. It came out in theaters last December and is now available to stream at home. You can rent it on Amazon for £15.99 or purchase it for £19.99.
So, it costs the same on Apple TV, but you actually get a little extra if you buy it there. They’ve included a director’s commentary from Brewer, which is cool, but they also added some longer versions of the musical numbers – definitely a nice bonus for fans like me!

The film Song Sung Blue features powerful performances that demonstrate music’s ability to connect and comfort people. Critics are praising actress Hudson for her sincere and touching portrayal of the character Claire.
The film earned $55 million globally and received positive reviews, especially for Hudson’s performance. As a result, she’s been nominated for Best Actress at the 98th Academy Awards.
Rotten Tomatoes reports a 78% approval rating for this musical drama, based on 196 reviews. Critics generally agree that Song Sung Blue respectfully honors its source material and isn’t just a simple retelling of the original documentary.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the film isn’t overly sentimental; instead, it’s genuinely warm-hearted and celebrates performers who connect with and delight their fans.
I was so happy to see the San Jose Mercury News loved the movie too! They said even with a few imperfections, the actors’ charm really shines through in Song Sung Blue. It’s a really moving story about Neil Diamond fans who got through tough times together, and it really resonated with them – and now with me, too!
Song Sung Blue is available to buy or rent now.
I’m so excited! The latest issue of Living Legends, a gorgeous, full-colour magazine all about Taylor Swift, is finally out! It’s 100 pages long and you can grab a copy at newsagents or order it online for only £8.99. Definitely adding this to my Taylor collection!
