Huge Hollywood star surprises locals with a low-key appearance at a pharmacy in suburban Sydney

Alec Baldwin, the famous actor, caused a bit of a stir in Sydney’s Northern Beaches on Thursday when he was seen shopping at a pharmacy on Manly’s popular Corso street.

Alec Baldwin took selfies with employees at Malouf Pharmacy after a staff member recognized him from the TV show 30 Rock.

Alec looked much more relaxed and casual than he does on television. He was wearing a black denim jacket, jeans, and a purple shirt.

Scarlett, who works at the shop, said she was looking around when a coworker thought they spotted a celebrity, according to The Manly Daily.

‘She just stared at him until he said ”I’m Alec Baldwin” and had a laugh,’ she said. 

‘He then took pictures with all of us.’ 

The shop managers successfully persuaded the celebrity to vote for their pharmacy in the local business awards.

It’s understood that Alec also posed with other shoppers along the retail strip.

The actor known for his role in ‘The Departed’ has said he’s planning to retire and focus on his family.

The actor says the past four years have been very difficult for him following the tragic death of Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer who was shot on the set of his movie, Rust. He was holding the gun when the shooting occurred.

After everything that happened, I noticed Alec Baldwin really pulled back and focused on being with his family – Hilaria and their seven kids. He seemed to prioritize being home much more, and honestly, it felt like the right thing for him to do.

In an interview on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, Alec Baldwin mentioned he’s considering leaving acting behind.

He explained that the events in New Mexico were deeply upsetting for him, leading him to spend a lot of time at home with his children for over three years.

I haven’t been very busy lately, but that’s starting to change. I have a lot of things I want to do, but I’ve become comfortable staying home and now I’m reluctant to go out. I really don’t want to leave the house.

I’m ready to stop working and retire. I want to spend my time at home with my children.

I’ve been following Alec and Hilaria for years, and it’s amazing how they’ve built such a big family! They’re parents to seven wonderful kids: Carmen, who’s eleven, nine-year-old Rafael, Leonardo who’s eight, six-year-old Romeo, little Eduardo who’s four, three-year-old Maria, and the youngest, two-year-old Ilaria. And let’s not forget his first child, Ireland, who’s all grown up at thirty and shares a special bond with him and Kim Basinger, his former wife.

As a long-time fan, I was so relieved to hear that Cooler was officially cleared of the involuntary manslaughter charges in 2024. It was a difficult time, and I’m glad the legal issues surrounding the shooting are finally resolved.

Throughout the years of legal battles following the shooting, he explained on the podcast that his main concern was the welfare of his family.

Just last month, Alec Baldwin was revealed as a lead actor in the upcoming film, Kochroach. Filming is currently underway in Sydney under the direction of American filmmaker Matt Ross.

The American-produced crime film also features Chris Hemsworth and Taron Egerton.
