How to Unlock All Mantles in MH Wilds
In Monster Hunter Wilds, mantles make a comeback, albeit with a smaller variety compared to World. However, their utility remains just as high. They continue to be valuable for enhancing specific gameplay styles, and it’s possible to achieve successful hunts even without relying on them.
If you’re new to the world of MH Wilds, using a Mantle could make your learning process smoother. In certain situations, they can even be vital tools for success. This guide offers an overview of all mantles available in the game, discussing their unique effects and methods for acquiring them.
All Mantles in MH Wilds
Initially, Mantles in Monster Hunter World are awarded to the player by Gemma when they progress through specific stages of the main plot. Unlike earlier versions, there’s no necessity to complete any optional quests, and these mantles cannot be upgraded. Essentially, the mantles you obtain right away are what you’ll have, and fortunately, each one is useful from the get-go.

With the exception of the Ghillie Mantle, all other mantles come with a 600-second cooldown period. The Mending Mantle offers the shortest active duration at 60 seconds, while both Rocksteady and Evasion Mantles last for 90 seconds. On the other hand, the Ghillie Mantle and Corrupted Mantle have a longer duration of 120 seconds each.
At any given time, players are allowed to carry just two cloaks, with one designated slot specifically for the Ghillie Mantle. To switch between cloaks, you can do so from the Change Equipment menu located at the Smithy or any of your tents.

In total, players can only possess and wear two cloaks simultaneously. One of these slots is dedicated exclusively to the Ghillie Mantle. You may select which cloak to use by accessing the Change Equipment menu within the Smithy or at any of your tents.
In contrast to mantles from Monster Hunter World, the ones found here are more manageable. However, the Corrupted Mantle, particularly favored by speedrunners for its significant damage increase, is quite popular. Unless the mantles in The Wilds gain upgrade possibilities or decoration slots, players can generally disregard them when playing casually, although they remain quite useful.
