Steps To Set Up Pop-Up Camp in Monster Hunter Wilds

Setting up a Pop-up Camp in Monster Hunter Wilds entails the following steps:

  • Finding a suitable spot to set up your Pop-up Camp.
  • Build the Pop-up Camp.

Where Can You Build Pop-up Camps in Monster Hunter Wilds?

As a gamer in Monster Hunter Wilds, I’ve found that each region or locale has special spots for setting up Pop-up Camps. Too bad scoutflies don’t automatically mark these for us; you’ll only find them when stumbling upon one during your adventures. When you’re close to such a spot, keep an eye out for a distinct green cylindrical area on the ground, surrounded by neon-green butterflies fluttering around it.

In Monster Hunter Worlds, these butterflies serve as a prominent guide for finding Pop-up Camps. If your scoutflies fail to pinpoint the camp’s location, don’t worry! You can still effortlessly spot these butterflies and use them as a pathfinder to reach your Pop-up Camp.

How To Build Pop-Up Camp in Monster Hunter Wilds

As a seasoned gamer, here’s how I set up my Pop-up Camp in Monster Hunter World:

1. First, scout the area thoroughly to find the perfect spot for my camp.
2. Once I’ve found a suitable location, I use my Scoutfly to mark it as my new base.
3. Then, I head back to camp and interact with the Research Base interaction point.
4. From there, I select ‘Build’ from the menu options.
5. Now, I choose ‘Pop-up Camp’ from the list of structures to build.
6. After selecting the Pop-up Camp, I place it at my marked location using the map.
7. Finally, I confirm the build and watch as my new camp pops up in the wilds!

  • Use your Item Bar to locate the Camping Kit.
  • Press the respective button to build the camp. (E on PC, Square on PS, X on Xbox.)
  • A small animation will ensue, which will then complete the camp.

That said, there are certain times when you will not be able to build a Pop-up Camp.

When Can You Not Build a Pop-up Camp in Monster Hunter Wilds?

In Monster Hunter Wilds, you won’t be able to set up a Pop-up Camp even if you’re in the correct spot under the following circumstances.

  • When you are engaged with a Large Monster.
  • If there is an existing Pop-up Camp in the same location that has been destroyed.
  • When you have built the maximum number of Pop-up Camps possible for that locale.

If you’re facing off against a big beast, either vanquish it or make it ignore you so you can set up your campsite. Should you find yourself in a situation where your current camp at this location has been demolished, you’ll have to fix it prior to establishing a new one.

How To Repair Pop-up Camps in Monster Hunter Wilds

Pop-up Camps are mended by our specialized Pop-up Camp Repairer, although this process requires some time. In case a Pop-up Camp is damaged, you’ll receive an on-screen alert about the situation. If no action is taken, the repairer will automatically fix it after a while.

Instead, to expedite this procedure, engage with the Pop-up Camps’ Repair Specialist, conveniently located near your damaged campsite. Keep in mind that hastening the repairs will require a few of your Guild Points.

Why Are Pop-up Camps Destroyed?

In the world of Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s not uncommon for massive beasts to raze temporary settlements. This destruction may occur during your battles with these creatures or while they are merely patrolling. The monsters might deliberately target your camps, or they could inadvertently cause damage in their wake. On occasion, fierce territorial disputes among nearby monsters can also lead to the demolition of your temporary camp.

How To Remove Pop-up Camps in Monster Hunter Wilds

To revert a temporary campsite in Monster Hunter Wilds back to its original location, approach the Pop-up Camp Expert for assistance. Alternatively, you can restore a demolished Pop-up Camp, but be aware that certain limitations will apply.

After taking down a damaged Pop-up Camp, you’ll find yourself unable to construct another one in the same location for a specific period of time, which we have yet to disclose. Once the complete game launches, we’ll provide more details about the required waiting period.

Uses of Pop-Up Camp in Monster Hunter Wilds

In essence, a Pop-up Camp in Monster Hunter Wilds is simply your tent located within a Base Camp. Its functions in this game include:

  • When you enter a Pop-up Camp, your health is restored and all status effects are automatically removed.
  • You can change your gear and your Palico’s gear.
  • If you are using a melee weapon, its Sharpness is restored to the maximum.
  • You can access your main Item Box and change the contents of your Item Pouch.
  • Pop-up Camps can be used as Fast Travel points.
