How to reach Kaifeng in Where Winds Meet

Kaifeng is the second major city you’ll visit in Where Winds Meet, but navigating to it can be tricky.

You’ll need to complete many quests in Qinghe, but some are more important than others if you want to progress quickly. If you don’t complete them in the right order, you’ll be sent back to the beginning each time you try to move forward.

How to access Kaifeng in Where Winds Meet

To unlock Kaifeng, you need to finish the quest called “For Whom Does He Return.” You’ll find this quest within “Chapter One – Heaven Has No Pier.” It’s a fairly lengthy quest – how long it takes depends on the difficulty level you’re playing on. After dealing with some simpler enemies, you’ll face off against Qianye.

How to defeat Qianye in Where Winds Meet

Even on the easiest setting, Qianye is a tough opponent. You’ll need to be really good at blocking and dodging, and constantly replenish your health. Her powerful scythe deals a lot of damage, making her a formidable enemy.

The first part of the battle is straightforward – mainly just dodge the Scythe. The real challenge comes in the second phase. Here’s some advice to help you succeed in the Qianye fight.

  • Get as many character upgrades as possible since higher stats will be advantageous.
  • Upgrade your gear as much as possible.
  • Stock healing items before starting the battle.
  • Parrying will be key, so mastering the defensive maneuver is key.
  • Melodies of Peace passive from Qi Sheng will get you bonus stats (and make the battle swing in your favor).

After you beat Qianye, find the dockmaster in Harvestfall. They’ll take you to Kaifeng so you can continue your adventure. Just make sure you’re at least level 32, and that you’ve finished all the quests from Chapter One, before heading there.
