How To Open Pyromancer’s Chest In Avowed

Once you venture into the expansive realm of Avowed, it’s quite frequent to stumble upon chests as you delve into the secluded parts of the map. Some of these chests can be effortlessly unlocked by simply interacting with them or using lockpicking skills, but others may require a bit more work – yet offer greater rewards in return.

Among your options is a chest belonging to the Pyromancer, located to the north of Berath’s Gateway in Dawnshore. It’s situated approximately in the center of the left section of the area. Here’s a guide on how to retrieve the key needed to open it:

1. Proceed north from Berath’s Gateway until you reach Dawnshore.
2. Once in Dawnshore, look for the left side of the area.
3. The chest should be in the middle of this section.
4. To open the chest, you will need a key which can be found somewhere in or around Dawnshore. Good luck on your search!

How To Find The Pyromancer’s Key

To find out where the Pyromancer’s Key is hidden, engage with the journal perched atop some barrels close to a tent, which is near a chest. This journal will reveal that the Pyromancer nearly set fire to the tent and plans to carry out his next experiment on a nearby ridge. The key can be discovered on this ridge after he conducts his experiment.

To find where it is, gaze toward the cemetery, and you’ll spot a flag atop one of the hills close by, which serves as your goal. Here’s an easy way to reach it:

1. Head towards the cemetery.
2. Once you reach it, look for the nearby hills.
3. On one of these hills, you should see a flag on top.
4. That flag marks your destination. Follow its direction to reach your goal.

  • First, head to the right entrance of the graveyard from the tent, roughly on the northwestern edge of it on the map. Here, you’ll see a small bridge to the left with a path leading up.
  • Jump across the bridge and follow this path, where you’ll have to defeat a few enemies.
  • After defeating the enemies, keep following the path going up to your left and you’ll trigger a dialogue from the Pyromancer where you see him explode.

At the Pyromancer’s specified spot, you will discover Anextli’s Grimoire, a Charred Journal, a Pyromancer key, and an essence potion along with some grenades. After that, make your way back to the chest, use the obtained key to open it, and retrieve an Amethyst, Common Grimoire of Embers, a Vessel Bone, two Pelts, a Softwood Branch, an Iron Chunk, and four Grenades.

As a gamer, I’d say finding grenades can be challenging at the start of the game. However, that hidden treasure chest and the steps to obtain its key are an excellent strategy for amassing some extra grenades!
