How To Get Oricalcite In Monster Hunter Wilds

In a notable change for Monster Hunter Wilds, the spotlight is now on the lesser-known cultures of the globe and their intricate relationships with the environment. Scavengers like Wudwuds collect assorted goods for bartering, Kunafa breeds creatures to produce prized cheeses, and the folk from Oilwell Basin adapt to utilize whatever resources they find, ranging from bones to metals.

As a devoted follower of their culture, the Firespring Festival stands as the heart of our traditions, where the purest ores are forged. This is where Oricalcite originates, although acquiring it reliably can be tricky. Fortunately, there are multiple methods to procure this valuable resource and maximize its potential. Let me walk you through one such method to make the best use of it.

What Is Oricalite Used For?

Although Oricalcite, including its lesser forms, originates from Azuz, it’s important to note that its application is not tied to the region. In fact, unless you opt for Artian weapons, they serve little purpose due to their distinct upgrade methods, which involve exclusive materials, unlike standard equipment.

Oricalcite is an exceptionally valuable resource when enhancing Artian weaponry. However, should you prefer not to utilize Artian weapons, there’s no compelling reason to concern yourself with Oricalcite as it serves no other purpose.

Because Oricalcite is not commonly found, any materials you’ve utilized for upgrading an Artian weapon will be reclaimed and made available for use in other weapons when you disassemble it.

How To Get Oricalcite

Four distinct materials are suitable for enhancing Aritan weapons, and they all follow the same acquisition method. Here’s a rundown of each material, along with their respective points assigned for weapon upgrades.

This way, the text is more conversational and easy to understand, while still maintaining the original meaning.

  • Drearisite – 20 points.
  • Specklite – 100 points.
  • Argecite – 200 points.
  • Oricalcite – 300 points.

Oricalcite is indeed the scarcest among them, yet they all serve the same purpose. To obtain these items, you have three options:

1. During the Firespring festival – Whenever the Firespring changes to Plenty in the Oilwell Basin, Azuz will host their festival and bestow upon you the leftovers.
2. In Azuz or through Nata – These items can also be procured either directly from Azuz or via Nata.

Please note that the materials you receive are randomly selected.

An alternative approach is by interacting with the characters at the Smelting Foundry. Here, you can request the smelting process for ore, during which you can provide monster materials to convert them into any of the four ores you prefer. The cost to create these ores matches the value they hold when used to enhance Artian weapons in the upgrade process.

In simpler terms, the last approach involves bartering. Occasionally, merchants from Azuz may have Oricalcite for trade, along with Gawdygog hidden in Wudwud. However, these items are usually scarce, making it more profitable to create them yourself manually instead.

If you decide to take up trading, remember to activate a Gathering Bonus in the relevant location initially so that the quantity of Oricalcite you collect gets doubled.
