How to Get More Healing items in Where Winds Meet

Battles in Where Winds Meet are quick and challenging, meaning you’ll use up your healing supplies quickly if you take a lot of damage. Unlike some games, healing isn’t automatic, and you have a limited number of potions and medicine you can carry. You can even run out of healing items completely! This guide will show you how to get more healing uses and quickly restock your medicine.

How to Increase Healing Charges in Where Winds Meet

To carry more healing items, find and give Medicinal Tales to Yaoyao at the Evercare Clinic. Normally, healing items only hold one charge, and you have to visit a Boundary Stone to refill them.

Okay, so I’m talking to Yaoyao, and then I need to pick the ‘Submit Medicinal Tale’ option. Apparently, I need a bunch of these Medicinal Tales to actually upgrade my Medicine Chest! Seriously, a ton! If I want to max it out to Rank 13, I need 90 of them! Luckily, I can get them by doing quests, checking my Exploration rewards, taking down world bosses, and running dungeons. It’s going to be a grind, but worth it to get those healing items boosted!

As you improve your Medicine Chest rank, you’ll get more uses out of your healing items – three uses at rank 5, four at rank 8, and five at rank 11. Between those ranks, you’ll also gain improvements like stronger healing or extra effects, such as reduced damage after using a potion or healing that continues over time.

During battles, the game will automatically switch to another healing item if you have multiple in your inventory and one is used up.

Where to Get Healing Items in Where Winds Meet

Where Winds Meet handles healing differently than games like Soulslikes. Instead of fully refilling your healing items when you rest at a checkpoint, you have to purchase or craft them. While you can store up to 99 of each healing item, you can only actively carry a maximum of 5. Resting at a Boundary Stone automatically refills your Medicine Chest with items from your storage, similar to how vials work in Bloodborne*.

Choosing the Panacea Fan as a starting weapon in Where Winds Meet can significantly reduce your need for healing items early on.

You can purchase Hemostatic Powder directly from Xiong Da, the merchant at Heaven’s Pier. Alternatively, you can craft it using Herbs and Meat Scraps, which are available from the Qinghe General Goods Vendor in Harvestfall Village. Vendors in Kaifeng also sell these crafting materials. Each vendor allows you to buy up to 99 of these items each week.

The game helps you find Herbs and Meat Scraps by showing you their locations. You can simply click or select these items in the game’s menus to see where they are.
