How to Find Secret Grand Hub Bird Nest in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, as a seasoned gamer, I constantly stumble upon baffling new mysteries in the Forbidden Lands while embarking on my journeys. Whether it’s the cunning traps set by the elusive beasts or the hidden resources camouflaged amidst the landscape, every corner of these lands is brimming with potential discoveries. It’s not just about tracking down the ferocious monsters for their materials; it’s about uncovering the secrets that lie beneath the surface, making each expedition a thrilling adventure.

In the lively heart of Monster Hunter Wilds lies a remarkable creature I can’t wait for you to discover – the Gigacrake! This charming, oversized avian isn’t easy to spot, but if you’re up for the hunt, here’s your starting point.

Where to Find Secret Grand Hub Bird Nest in Monster Hunter Wilds

In the bustling Grand Hub, you can find the “Gigacrake,” a gigantic, feathery bird often jokingly referred to by gamers. This elusive creature doesn’t like to sleep in the open and instead hides in a secluded nest. Finding its secret lair is more of an exciting adventure than a casual stroll.

Begin at the Grand Hub’s primary entrypoint, then make a right turn. Follow the path that leads you underneath stone arches before reemerging into the open space. Turn left and search for a wall with a vine-covered path next to a tiny wooden hut.

Follow the winding vine trail until it leads you to a colossal ribcage-like structure, perched upon one of the bones. Turn your gaze to the cliffside on your right and prepare to leap to the closest overhang, situated to the right of the first waterfall (visible below).

Making the leap isn’t a walk in the park, so it’s best to gather momentum with a good run first to cover the most ground. Once you successfully land on the ledge ahead, glance to your left and make a leap across the chasm over the waterfall to the next ledge beyond. Keep running until you spot another waterfall (and for reference, the Barrel Bowling mini-game should be visible nearby below it).

As a gamer, I found the secret lair of the adorable Gigacrake tucked away behind a cascading waterfall. If you need a bit of a sprint-start, go ahead and dash toward it, then take a bound to land on the hidden ledge beyond the falling waters. Once there, brace yourself for an encounter with the incredibly fluffy Gigacrake and its brood of Downy Crake babies nestled within!

Turns out, this adorable Easter egg isn’t just eye candy; it’s got a hidden depth. The appearance of the Gigacrake and its secret hideout might seem a bit offhand, but it’s probably a nod to a similar owl-like creature in Monster Hunter Rise known as a Cohoot. Just like the Cohoot, this new character has a special nest hidden away, if you know where to look for it. As a gamer, I can’t help but appreciate these intricate details that developers sneak into their games!

What are Nest Trinkets in Monster Hunter Wilds

When venturing into the hidden lair of Gigacrake in Monster Hunter Wilds, there’s a chance you’ll stumble upon a hidden reward within its nest. This prize goes by the name of ‘Nest Trinket‘, and just like other game items, it can be picked up effortlessly. Upon collection, this trinket may unveil a variety of useful items at random. On some occasions, you’ll receive a single item, while on others, multiple items will be yours to keep.

These items encompass those utilized in combat, materials for crafting, and goods for selling (like Steel Eggs). Once you discover a Gigacrake’s nest initially and obtain the Nest Trinket, you’ll need to wait for another one to appear. At this point, it’s not yet certain what triggers the respawn of Nest Trinkets, but it doesn’t seem like resting does in this specific case. Currently, there’s no option to rest at the Grand Hub.

Instead, it might be advantageous to engage in hunting expeditions, since these appear to yield Nest Trinkets more frequently than other methods. Try completing at least one hunt (for increased chances of acquiring a variety and quantity of items) and then make your way back to the Gigacrake’s nest. You may not find a Nest Trinket immediately, but if you wait a few minutes while the bird goes through its charming movements, one should eventually appear.

Nest Trinkets, unlike other methods like the Support Ship, may not be highly effective or dependable for gathering items or Zenny. However, they add an enjoyable and adorable aspect to your travels.
