In the open world of tenth-century China in Where Winds Meet, joining the Pardon Parades is a fun way to earn extra rewards with other players. If you enjoy playing as a troublemaker and committing crimes, participating in these parades can also help you get back into the game more easily after being arrested.
While Pardon Parades offer benefits, the game doesn’t clearly explain how they work until you’ve tried them. This guide will give all Winds Meet players a complete understanding of these events.
What Are Pardon Parades In Where Winds Meet?
Pardon Parades are a unique multiplayer event in Where Winds Meet. Players who have committed crimes are paraded through town, and in exchange for public humiliation, their sentences are reduced. Other players can participate by throwing things like eggs and vegetables at the parading criminals, and even earn rewards for doing so.
When a player commits a crime in Where Winds Meet, they’re publicly shamed by being dragged through town in a wooden cart pulled by a horse, with guards on each side. During these special events, players worldwide can watch and participate by throwing food at the offender as a form of public humiliation.
How To Unlock & Join Pardon Parades
As you start the game, you’ll gain access to the ‘Time Limited’ feature, marked by a golden bird icon at the top-left of your screen. Tap this icon, choose ‘Pardon Parade in Progress,’ and you’ll see a list of Pardon Parades happening for other players that you can join.
It’s not entirely certain when this feature becomes available, but for us, it unlocked after reaching level ten while exploring the well as part of the Still Shore side quest.
You can join any Pardon Parade that’s currently happening and be taken to the event location. Each parade lasts just ten minutes and fills up fast, but with so many players in Where Winds Meet, there are usually several available to join without a problem.
How To Get Rewards From Pardon Parades
During the ten-minute Pardon Parade, players in Where Winds Meet can participate by selecting the ‘Public Procession’ option. Simply follow the cart and throw up to ten vegetables or eggs at the prisoner to complete the event and earn rewards.

Sometimes you might not be able to throw food at a prisoner. This usually happens when you’re too close to them and their cart. Just move back a little, and you should be able to throw food again.
Pardon Parades in Where Winds Meet are simple to do, but you can only earn rewards from them five times each week. You’re still welcome to participate beyond that, but you won’t receive any extra bonuses.
If you commit a crime within the game – like stealing, damaging property, attacking someone, or even killing another player – you could become wanted by other players and authorities. This could lead to being hunted, arrested, and sent to jail.
How To Reduce Time Off Prison Sentence With Pardon Parades
In the game Where Winds Meet, if you’re sent to prison for a crime, you can participate in Pardon Parades to reduce your sentence by 60 minutes. Committing crimes like theft, vandalism, assault, or even murder can lead to being wanted by the authorities, pursued, arrested, and ultimately imprisoned.
You have two choices: you can finish serving your current sentence, or you can open your menu and choose the ‘Pardon Parade’ option, located in the top right corner. Selecting ‘Go to Parade’ will instantly transport you to your personal Pardon Parade, where other players can playfully pelt you with vegetables and eggs.
During the ten-minute Pardon Parade, other players can reduce the parade time by half a second to one second for each vegetable they throw. For example, in our recent parade, it finished in just seven minutes and forty-three seconds instead of the full ten minutes.
How long you’re in jail depends on what you did and your past record. However, if this is your first or second offense in Where Winds Meet, participating in a Pardon Parade will usually be enough to secure your release without having to do any prison work.
