How to dodge in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
In the intense battles of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, mastering the art of parrying and riposte is crucial, but don’t forget that you also have the option to dodge! Dodging can give you an advantage over your opponents.
In Kingdom Come 2, some aspects of gameplay, such as dodging during combat, may not be immediately clear. You might not even realize that you have the option to dodge, or you may have forgotten about it. To find this feature, look for “Evade” in the Player menu under Warfare in the Combat tab. This skill can be upgraded by spending perk points on certain abilities. Once you’ve found it, let’s walk through how to effectively dodge enemy attacks.
How to dodge in Kingdom Come 2
In the game Kingdom Come 2, you can dodge by simultaneously pressing and holding down a directional key, along with the jump button.
Based on your platform, a dodge can be performed by pressing:
- The space bar on PC
- The B button on an Xbox controller
- The circle button on a PlayStation controller
In Kingdon Come 2, a successful dodge is achieved by timing your movement right when the opponent is about to attack. Pressing the dodge button (represented by a green shield icon) while holding a direction will cause you to swiftly evade to either side, leaving your enemy off guard for a counterattack. This maneuver is known as a Perfect Dodge. Although it requires some stamina, it offers a clear view of the opponent’s vulnerable flank, making it difficult for them to block your attack.
As an enthusiast, I’d suggest this strategy: Anticipate your foe’s assault. Just as they start attacking, swiftly veer left or right, then press the dodge button or key once the Perfect Block symbol flashes. After dodging, counterattack from their side.
With good timing, you can get around an enemy’s exposed back:
Maneuvering around an opponent can also involve getting nearer or maintaining a safe distance. Pushing the dodge button while moving forward makes Henry swiftly advance towards the adversary. On the other hand, pressing back while dodging causes him to rapidly retreat, thus creating space between you and the enemy or escaping their attack.
You can dodge with any weapon you prefer, including ones while wearing a shield, but it is most effective when wielding lighter weapons like single-handed swords. It’s an ideal method for evading opponents during hand-to-hand combat as well.
What skills enhance the dodge ability?
In the game Kingdom Come 2, you can enhance your dodging abilities with various advantages. At Agility level 8, you can purchase Nimble Stance, which reduces the stamina cost of dodging by 40%. When you reach Agility level 12, acquire Totentanz for a 15% increase in weapon attack when performing a Perfect Dodge. Additionally, consider the River perk from the Warfare skill list under Combat. After executing a dodge or Perfect Dodge, it boosts your Warfare skill by +3 and restores your stamina at a rate of 15% faster for a duration of 10 seconds.
