How TIME and Statista Determined World’s Growth Leaders of 2026

TIME, working with the data company Statista, has released its first-ever ranking of the “World’s Growth Leaders 2026,” recognizing the highest-performing public companies globally.

Methodology

The analysis is based on three primary dimensions:

• Growth Performance

• Financial Stability

• Stock Performance

We measured company Growth Performance using five years of revenue data from Statista. To be included, companies needed to be publicly traded and show consistent revenue increases during that period. We looked at both how much revenue grew and how many years of growth each company experienced.

We assessed financial stability by looking at company profitability and using well-known financial health indicators like the Piotroski F-Score and Altman Z-Score, which estimate the risk of bankruptcy. For companies in the banking, insurance, and real estate investment trust (REIT) sectors, we also used key performance indicators specific to those industries.

We assessed each company’s stock performance by looking at several key factors that indicate its value as an investment. This included its average yearly growth, recent returns, how it performed compared to the overall market, and how much its stock price has fluctuated over the last five years.

After gathering and analyzing the data, we combined it into a scoring system, giving equal weight to three key areas. This produced a final score out of 100 for each company. TIME and Statista then recognized the top 1,000 highest-scoring companies as the “World’s Growth Leaders 2026.”
