HBO has announced that the third season of House of the Dragon will premiere on June 21st, continuing the show’s trend of redefining fantasy TV.

As a huge fan, I was so excited to go back to Westeros! Game of Thrones really changed TV, and it’s amazing that the story is continuing. This new show really digs into the history of the Targaryens, going all the way back 200 years before Daenerys. It’s incredible to see them at the height of their power, with all these dragons, but also to see the cracks starting to form that would eventually lead to their downfall. This season has eight episodes and it’s a deep dive into the lore that first hooked us all back in 2011.

This season features a large cast, blending familiar faces with exciting new characters in the world of the Realm. Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy reprise their roles as Daemon and Rhaenyra Targaryen, alongside returning stars Olivia Cooke and Steve Toussaint, and newcomers James Norton and Tommy Flanagan. As the series heads toward its August 9th finale, it remains a flagship show for HBO, drawing on the epic scope of the Fire & Blood books to stay at the forefront of popular culture.

Check out the new trailer! House of the Dragon Season 3 premieres on Sunday, June 21st and you can watch it on HBO Max.
