Home and Away star Isabel Lucas shares bizarre placenta story – and reveals son’s unique name

Isabel Lucas, a new mother, recently shared a strange story about her placenta after giving birth to her first child with her partner, Cyrus Sutton.

The Home and Away star, 41, gave birth to a baby boy back in December.

Isabel shared a surprising story about her baby’s placenta on Instagram this Sunday, and also revealed her son’s distinctive name.

Isabel then shared that she and Cyrus had buried their baby’s placenta beneath a tree on their property in Byron Bay.

Isabel posted a video of her and Cyrus burying the placenta, and also shared photos of her baby bump.

Isabel explained that they had recently buried the placenta under a small hoop pine tree on their property, which they were using as their Christmas tree.

‘My mum chose it for its scent and modest size, not realising it might grow 60 metres sky high.’

She added that the ritual felt like ‘closure.’

She explained they wanted to celebrate the source of life and acknowledge this special transition. The earth provided nourishment for the mother, who in turn nourished the baby, and as a natural closing to that cycle, the placenta is returned to the earth.

It felt like a peaceful resolution, a heartfelt connection to his origins, family, and homeland, acknowledging that his history and identity went much deeper than his current location.

The announcement received a lot of excited comments, as fans quickly congratulated Isabel on her new baby.

“Congratulations, you look beautiful! You’re going to be a wonderful mother,” someone said, echoing what many others were thinking.

The actress announced the birth of her son, Archer, in December with a heartwarming Instagram post. The photo showed Archer’s small foot nestled in his father’s hand.

Isabel wrote in the caption of her post that she sees signs of angels all around – in meaningful coincidences, gut feelings, the support of loved ones, and the wisdom of nature.

She went on, explaining how even amidst hardship and joy, fear can transform into love. This unlocks new opportunities and creates pathways forward.

We are so grateful for everyone who has supported us, both those we know and those we don’t. And to our wonderful son, we love you more than words can say.

The veteran Australian actress announced that she was expecting her first child in October.

She wrote in the caption that sometimes it’s hard to find the right words, and all you can do is simply feel what you feel.

‘A new forever exists here. Among petals of silent wonder and pure love,’ she added. 

‘Together we hold this miracle with tender heartful hands.’

The post also showed Isabel with her boyfriend, American film director Cyrus. They publicly confirmed their relationship on Instagram in August.

Isabel shared a series of photos on Instagram showing her and her partner cuddling and gazing lovingly at each other.

We don’t know how long the couple has been together, but Isabel was last publicly connected to someone named Samuel in 2023.

The actress prefers to keep her personal relationships private. She briefly dated Chris Hemsworth in 2006, before he became famous with his role in Thor.

She has dated indie pop singer Angus Stone and actor Adrian Grenier in the past.
