Helena Bonham Carter LEAVES White Lotus days into shoot as HBO confirms role will be ‘rewritten and recast’

Helena Bonham Carter has unexpectedly departed from the filming of The White Lotus season four, shortly after it started in Southern France.

Last week, it was revealed that production has begun on the popular HBO show, which tells a different story in a new and exciting location each season.

The fourth season would have featured Carter, age 59, alongside a talented group of actors like Heather Graham, Sandra Bernhard, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, and Rosie Perez.

HBO has announced that Evangeline Carter is leaving the show due to disagreements about the direction of her character’s storyline.

As a huge fan of The White Lotus, I was shocked to hear that the character Mike White originally wrote for Helena Bonham Carter just wasn’t working out on set as they started filming season four. Apparently, what was on paper didn’t translate to reality, and they had to make some changes. It’s a little disappointing, but I’m still excited to see what they come up with!

The network announced they are rethinking the character’s role, rewriting the script, and will be finding a new actor to play the part in the next few weeks.

A representative for Carter declined the Daily Mail’s request for comment.

HBO and the creators of the show, along with Mike White, expressed their disappointment that they won’t be collaborating with the actress again, but they continue to be big fans and hope to work with her in the future.
