Harris Dickinson is given a huge boost in James Bond betting odds after scooping the role of John Lennon in The Beatles’ biopic

Harris Dickinson is now one of bookies’ favourites to become the new James Bond.

The 28-year-old actor set to portray John Lennon in a planned four-part film series about The Beatles, starting in 2028, is now a leading candidate to take over the role of James Bond after Daniel Craig.

I’ve been following the James Bond odds closely, and it’s getting really interesting! Last week, Richard Harris was a long shot at 9/1, but now he’s surged to 8/5 to become the next 007. Callum Turner is still the favorite at 4/5, but Harris is definitely closing the gap. Honestly, everyone else seems pretty unlikely at this point, with odds of 5/1 or higher.

According to Ladbrokes, Harris Dickinson is poised for a potentially very busy career. Bookmakers suggest he’s a strong contender for both the role of John Lennon and James Bond.

Okay, so I’m completely obsessed with finding out who’s going to be the next Bond, and honestly, the odds are shifting constantly! Right now, everyone’s talking about Jacob Elordi – seriously, have you seen him in ‘Wuthering Heights’? He’s got this intense, smoldering look that just screams Bond. The bookies seem to agree, putting him at 5/1. But Aaron Taylor-Johnson is still right up there at 6/1, so it’s SO close! I’m checking the odds like, every hour, it’s ridiculous!

Actors often mentioned as potential candidates include Iris Elba, Theo James, Jonathan Bailey, James Norton, Jack Lowden, and Henry Cavill.

So far, only a director has been announced for the next James Bond film: Denis Villeneuve, known for his work on Dune, will be taking the helm.

The filmmaker, who is from French Canada, will also be an executive producer on the project, working with Tanya Lapointe.

The James Bond series has faced long breaks before. For example, six years passed between the release of Licence to Kill in 1989 (Timothy Dalton’s last film) and GoldenEye in 1995, which introduced Pierce Brosnan as Bond.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always been fascinated by enduring brands, and James Bond is certainly that! For decades, this iconic British series has focused on making huge, spectacular films, and interestingly, the Broccoli family has always been the driving force behind the production – they’ve overseen every film since the very first one back in 1962. It’s a truly unique situation in the world of blockbuster filmmaking!

After 30 years, the Broccoli family, who have long overseen the James Bond films, passed creative control to Amazon MGM Studios last year. This change happened after Amazon acquired Bond’s studio in 2022.

Harris will join Paul Mescal (playing Paul McCartney), Joseph Quinn (as George Harrison), and Barry Keoghan (as Ringo Starr) in a series of four films about The Beatles.

The film features a talented supporting cast, with Aimee Lou Wood playing Pattie Boyd, Harrison’s wife, Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, and James Norton as Brian Epstein, the band’s manager.

The series will also feature Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey, John Lennon’s first wife, and Harry Lloyd as George Martin, the producer who worked with The Beatles throughout their entire recording career.

Each film will tell the story of The Beatles from the viewpoint of a different band member, following their journey from a little-known group in Liverpool during the early 1960s to their global fame and eventual breakup in 1970.

This marks the first time Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, along with the families of John Lennon and George Harrison, have allowed the creation of feature films based on their lives.
