Happy Valley and Line of Duty stars’ “gripping” British thriller unveils tense first-look trailer

ITV has released a first trailer for the upcoming spy thriller Secret Service, starring Gemma Arterton. The series also features Mark Stanley (known from Happy Valley) and Rochenda Sandall (Line of Duty). The 60-second trailer gives a glimpse of Arterton and Stanley in their roles and hints at the dangerous situation faced by Arterton’s character, Kate Henderson, a high-ranking MI6 officer.

Based on Tom Bradby’s popular novel, Secret Service is a thrilling and realistic spy drama on ITV that delves into the ongoing conflicts between Russia and the United Kingdom.

The new series is being promoted as a thrilling and relevant spy story. It follows Kate Henderson, a top MI6 officer, who discovers evidence that a prominent British politician might be secretly working for Russia. The series was produced by Gail Egan and filmed in Malta and London.

With trust eroding among those in charge, Kate finds herself caught in a treacherous and deceptive situation. As alliances change and personal risks mount, revealing the truth could have devastating consequences for her.

I’m really excited about this new ITV thriller! Rafe Spall, who I’ve seen in Trying and Under Salt Marsh, plays my character Kate’s husband, Stuart. They have two kids, and it looks like Kate’s super dangerous job is starting to mess with her family life. The trailer showed her daughter being genuinely scared someone was following them, which was a really intense moment!
