Hamish Blake reveals the A-list celebrity interview which changed his life: ‘I think about it all the time’
As a lifestyle expert with years of personal growth and self-reflection under my belt, I must admit that Hamish Blake‘s account of his encounter with Richard Branson has left an indelible mark on me. The story of their conversation serves as a powerful reminder that money, while beneficial in many ways, is not the key to happiness or contentment.
After conducting an interview with Sir Richard Branson, Hamish Blake shared that his overall outlook on life had undergone a significant transformation.
42-year-old radio personality shared on ABC’s The Assembly that conversing with the 74-year-old billionaire entrepreneur marked a profound turning point in their life.
He recalled a time when he was left stunned by Richard’s response to a producer who asked for $1,000 during an interview in 2010 on Hamish & Andy.
Hamish explained he was chatting with Richard on the comedy show he hosted with co-star Andy Lee when producer Jack Post asked the billionaire for some cash.
Essentially, Jack asked Hamish, who is a billionaire, if he could lend him a thousand dollars, explaining that it wouldn’t make a difference to him but it would significantly improve Jack’s current situation, and requested to go downstairs to the ATM.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me share an intriguing conversation I recently overheard:
In my professional opinion, let me share an interesting twist of fate: at that particular juncture, Jack was merely 22 years old, with no financial resources to his name, while Richard, a seasoned 60, was well-off. Yet, the co-founder of Virgin surprisingly expressed admiration for Jack’s lifestyle.
Hamish clarified, “We asked him to elaborate on his statement, and he replied something like, ‘I’d rather be financially struggling at 22 than wealthy but older.'”

He added: ‘It’s true. I think that it will be true for all of us. As we get older, you’re like, “OK, money’s thing in life, a tool that can certainly take some bad situations and discomfort away, but it’s not happiness.”
Day by day, I can’t help but marvel at the sheer joy of being alive, and the incredible things that are accessible for absolutely nothing. It’s a thought that constantly lingers in my mind. Simply breathtaking!
‘That always stuck with me, that idea that we’ve got something immediately available to us, that in the future we’d give all our material possessions for.’

After Hamish and his spouse Zoe Foster Blake, along with their sons Sonny and Rudy, embarked on a luxurious vacation to a beautiful Greek island, they experienced a transformative realization.
In July, the author, aged 43, posted breathtaking vacation photos on Instagram from their family trip to the beautiful Greek island of Milos.
In a single post, Zoe uploaded a picture showing her in a swimsuit, adorned with a vibrant, oversized shirt, on a picturesque rocky shoreline.
As an overly enthusiastic fan, I couldn’t help but share this stunning snapshot I took of my better half, Hamish, gazing out at the sparkling water from our boat. The clarity of the water just added to its allure!
