Halloween Wars season 14 episode 4 spoilers: Which team goes home in week #3?

As a seasoned gamer of Halloween Wars, I must say this week’s challenge was a real treat to behold! The teams outdid themselves with their Monster Trick or Treat scenes, especially the Shriek Squad and Delectable Demons who left me spellbound.

As we glide into week three on the fourteenth season of Halloween Wars, only five teams remain: Shriek Squad, Death by Decoration, Delectable Demons, Two Ghoulish Chefs, and Scream of the Farm.

In this episode, the five groups are given their most difficult task yet: designing a spooky “Monster Trick or Treat” scene complete with disguised monsters. However, there’s an unexpected rule! This week, the judges along with host Jonathan Bennett introduce the “spotlight on specialties,” where each week, one individual from each category (cake, sugar, or pumpkin) will be tasked with creating a specific component for the overall design.

Initially, we find the pumpkin carving teams at work. Their task requires them to create at least one character entirely from a pumpkin. One team, remarkably, incorporates what Shinmin Li refers to as an “extraordinary” amount of pumpkin, which she claims is the largest ever displayed in the context of Halloween Wars!

Here’s what each team made:

• SHRIEK SQUAD: A mummy princess on witchy lane with a zombie in the background; Tasting Element: Toffee almond tres leches cake with amaretto and almonds
• DEATH BY DECO: Franklin’s first treat with Medusa the princess nearby and made entirely out of pumpkin; Tasting Element: Chocolate bourbon nugget glazed in gourmet chocolate
• SCREAM OF THE CROP: A murder (of crows) comes for Jack; Tasting Element: Milk chocolate bourbon ganache with pecan praline crunch and a brown butter pecan shell with an orange tuile cookie on top
• 2 GHOULS AND A BUTCHER: A dragon named Drago visits Earth from another dimension; Tasting Element: Cherry-infused brownie with isomalt candy coating to look like a sucker
• DELECTABLE DEMONS: Monster trying to steal all the candy from trick-or-treating lane, this is the one with a record amount of pumpkins on display; Tasting Element: White chocolate shell with a passionfruit marshmallow inside

As a gamer, I claimed victory over Delectable Demons in our latest battle, thanks to their jaw-dropping monster that was practically bursting with pumpkins! The intricate design of the monstrous creature’s mouth, mimicking pumpkin gills, added an extra layer of detail and realism. Kudos to them for crafting such an impressive foe!

Death by Deco & Shriek Squad land in the bottom two

For the second consecutive week, Shriek Squad finds themselves at the bottom of the rankings. This time, it’s due to the judges’ dissatisfaction with the finish on their pumpkin mummy princess creation. Death by Deco joins them, as their Medusa princess was deemed too straightforward and the snakes were considered overly friendly.

In the end, the judges once again spare Shriek Squad, while Death by Deco is sent packing. Next week’s episode will feature the teams creating scary monsters in love.
