Halloween Baking Championship 2024 week 3: Mutated cuties & specimen-stuffed desserts

As a longtime fan of Halloween Baking Championship, I must say this season 10 is truly living up to my expectations! The creativity and skill displayed by these bakers never cease to amaze me. This week’s challenge was particularly intriguing – transforming cute creatures into terrifying monstrosities while incorporating candy corn flavors? Brilliant!

As we progress into the third week of “Halloween Baking Championship” season 10, the remaining eight contestants are challenged to create gooey desserts filled with peculiar specimens and transform adorable creatures into grotesque monsters in a specialized lab designed for such tasks.

For this week’s thrilling assignment, teams of two bakers are given the task of creating desserts that are reminiscent of various candy corn flavors, while incorporating decorative elements resembling body parts such as toes, eyeballs, and tongues. In the climactic challenge, contestants must transform adorable creatures like bunnies or dogs into something frighteningly different.

Which bakers succeeded this week and who is the unlucky one that ended up getting sent home?

Thriller Challenge results

In the Thriller Challenge, it was Manny and Aaron who emerged victorious. This success was due to their scrumptious blackberry cobbler mousse dome, which had an impressively lifelike tongue on top. As a result, both Manny and Aaron were awarded the immunity potion for the week. This meant that they couldn’t be eliminated during the perilous challenge, regardless of what they created next.

Killer Challenge results

In the latest tough competition, both Lillian and Aaron emerged victorious. Aaron amazed the judges by not playing it safe with his immunity, instead crafting a black pepper bacon cake with maple custard in the shape of a pig. Lillian, on the other hand, selected the sheep and prepared a chocolate cake complete with Irish cream mousse. While Aaron performed admirably, this week’s challenge was won by Lillian, who impressed the judges so much that they predicted she would be someone to keep an eye on in the future.

In every tough competition, two contestants often find themselves at risk. This time, it was Joel and JL who were in danger of elimination. The judges ultimately decided to eliminate JL, as his giraffe dessert was criticized for being disorganized and having a runny curd in the tart. Although Joel’s creation was also deemed visually confusing by the judges, they believed that it was JL who should be sent to the cryo chamber.

As he leaves, JL shares that although he hadn’t expected to depart the competition so soon, he remains immensely proud of the journey. “I feel invigorated, I’ve been inspired by everyone here. This experience has been truly extraordinary.

In the coming week, the final seven contestants in the Halloween Baking Championship will bring back to life some timeless baking recipes. You can catch it live on Max or Discovery+.
