Guy Ritchie is a filmmaker famous for his movies, but he’s recently started creating television shows as well. Since 2024, he’s been involved in four different TV projects, and some of them are as good as his best films.

Ritchie’s films clearly influenced his TV work. Both are known for quick cuts, witty conversations, and exciting action. As expected, his most successful TV shows have become as popular – and sometimes even more so – than his movies.

By the end of its first season, Young Sherlock had become a global hit on Prime Video, reaching the top of streaming charts worldwide. This success continues a pattern for director Guy Ritchie, following previous popular series released on Netflix and Paramount+ in 2024 and 2025.

5. Lock, Stock…

Even from the very beginning of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, it was clear that Guy Ritchie had a unique style and deep understanding of film, allowing him to quickly become known for his take on British gangster movies. His first film was a huge hit – it made over 30 times its production cost – and now that success has led to this eight-part TV series.

While not as good as the original film, the Lock, Stock… TV series still captures the spirit of the movie. Guy Ritchie created the series and wrote the first episode, but he wasn’t heavily involved in the rest of the production, and none of the movie’s original actors appear in it.

4. The Diamond Heist

As a huge movie buff, I have to say The Diamond Heist is one of the best true crime documentaries Netflix has put out. It’s because it feels like a Guy Ritchie film – he’s an executive producer, and his style is all over it. It’s a really entertaining look at what might be the boldest robbery attempt ever recorded.

This documentary feels as stylish and fast-paced as films like Snatch or RocknRolla, from its close-up, dramatic recreations to the straightforward storytelling of gang leader Lee Wenham. Knowing that every detail is based on true events makes it even more captivating.

3. MobLand

2025–Present

Guy Ritchie’s MobLand essentially serves as an origin story for the character Harry Da Souza, played by Tom Hardy, who is known from the Ray Donovan series as a problem-solver. The film sees Harry working to negotiate peace between competing gangs in London, and it marks a return to the kind of gritty crime stories that launched Ritchie’s directing career, before he began working on larger Hollywood projects.

You can really feel director Guy Ritchie back in his element with MobLand – a gangster flick set in the city where he first made a name for himself. Honestly, though, it doesn’t quite reach the heights of some of his more groundbreaking work. That said, Tom Hardy delivers an absolutely fantastic performance – he’s a real standout in the film.

2. The Gentlemen

2024–Present

Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series, The Gentlemen, is based on his 2019 film. It flips the script on traditional British high society by centering a secret drug operation within the walls of a grand estate. This fast-paced and funny series really showcases Ritchie’s signature, quick-cut filmmaking style.

Season 2 of The Gentlemen is almost here, and Eddie Horniman is still finding his footing as a drug lord. Expect more great performances from the show’s talented cast, including Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Vinnie Jones, a frequent collaborator with director Guy Ritchie.

It’s no shock that Young Sherlock is doing well on Prime Video, but the show is more than just a temporary hit. Both critics and viewers have been won over by its well-timed storytelling and thoughtful take on how Sherlock Holmes became the detective we know.

This new show from Guy Ritchie feels like it could become one of his most memorable, especially since it’s designed to potentially run for many seasons. It successfully combines his signature style of fast-paced action, historical settings, and the thrilling energy of his crime stories.
