As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of virtual mayhem under my belt, I must admit I find this moon-based speculation intriguing, albeit slightly lunar. The fact that GTA Online has hinted at upcoming events through celestial bodies isn’t lost on me. The last time it did, we were treated to the grand unveiling of GTA VI’s trailer.
Excited enthusiasts, anticipating the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, are now scouring the skies for hints instead.
To clarify, I’m not referring to the real moon here – that would be quite absurd, even for those eagerly awaiting any clues about the game, which is set to launch next year. Instead, I’m talking about the moon in some promotional material for GTA Online (as reported by Eurogamer)).
In this piece, a character is depicted casually resting against a vehicle, while the moon depicted within suggests it’s a specific lunar phase occurring on November 22nd. Admittedly, it seems somewhat symbolic or futuristic, but let me explain…
Indeed, it’s worth noting that a lunar discovery wasn’t unprecedented. As this Reddit user highlights, last year’s Moon Festival in GTA Online showcased promotional content featuring the moon as well. Remarkably, the moon in that image hinted at December 5th, which coincidentally was when the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer premiered.
In regards to Grand Theft Auto V, the second promotional video for the game came out approximately a year following the initial one. Thus, it’s possible that another trailer might be on the way as well.
