A first-look trailer has just landed for the Channel 5 and Masterpiece on PBS series The Forsytes.
A new television version of John Galsworthy’s classic story premiered in 2025, created by showrunner Debbie Horsfield. Decider called it a visually stunning period drama, and noted that the large ensemble cast successfully evokes the same captivating feeling as Downton Abbey.
Danny Griffin, Tuppence Middleton, and Millie Gibson will be back for a second season of the popular historical drama. The new trailer also offers a first look at Richard Rankin, known for his role in Outlander, as he joins the cast this season.

The brand new trailer teases more tension ahead for the high-society family.
Irene Heron is determined to make her marriage to Soames work, but Jolyon remains conflicted. He’s caught between his current family – his wife Frances and step-daughter June – and the possibility of a life with his former love, Louisa, and their children.

In an interview with Masterpiece, Tomlinson explained that the couple genuinely felt comfortable being themselves around each other.
She came from a humble background. When they first met, he aspired to be an artist, and for a while, they enjoyed a carefree, idyllic life. She often remembered this time with fondness, idealizing it even beyond how wonderful it actually was. She couldn’t stop herself from daydreaming about those days.

She explained that marrying into that social group was always unrealistic for Louisa, though she allowed herself to hope. Ultimately, Louisa’s happiness with the person she loved was the most important thing, even though she knew the relationship wouldn’t be permanent. It was a situation filled with both joy and sadness.
The second series of the show features the return of Francesca Annis as Ann Forsyte, Stephen Moyer as Jolyon Forsyte Sr., and Jack Davenport as James Forsyte. Joining them this season are Nia Ashi, known for her roles in Pennyworth and Bob Marley: One Love, as a new addition to the Forsyte family story.
